Last week I went to Pepboys Irondequoit 444 store to return a car jack kit I had purchased the day before. The product was horribly constructed, my vehicle wobbled on it, and the creeper than came with it buckled under my weight (I am 210lbs).
I went to the store to return the product as I had went to a different store and purchased a similar product that was alot better constructed. I had only used the Pepboys product one time and upon discovering its inferiority, I put it back in the box to return it to the store. I had my receipt and asked for a refund. The cashier brought over the store manager who looked at the product. She told me the product was used and that she could not return it. She offered me to swap it for the same set. I told her no thank you as it was unsafe, and I already purchased a replacement.
She then called over a male employee from different department to look at the jack. Why would the store manager be asking for advice from a subordinate on a product return? He also said that the jack could not be returned because it was used. OF COURSE IT WAS USED, HOW ELSE WOULD I FIND OUT IT WAS UNSAFE. They told me to contact Torin the manufacturer. I didnt buy it from torin, I bought it from Pepboys. Finally she agreed to give me store credit, less than I was hoping for, but being that I did use the product I reluctantly agreed to the offer.
As I was walking back towards the counter, I turned around briefly as the store manager (AMBER) was behind me. I caught her flipping me off and called her out on it. Embarrassed she directed her employee to finish the transaction and she dissapeared into a different part of the store. I was a long time customer of Pepboys, but after seeing how pepboys trains their management staff, I can assure you I will not be shopping there in the future.

I am not surprised of their response. My husband and I stopped shopping their and stopped having our car serviced their. Too many issues to list here. Good ridance is all I can say. Their are actually better prices at other stores.
