Had a salesman come to our home and tell us that they are trying to advertise for their company and in return they will install a security system and all its equiptment for free, there is just a $49.99 monthly fee for the call center. He said that there would not be a payment taken out for at least 30 days and that we can cancel at anytime. We had it insalled on 09/30/2011 and then on 10/06/2011 a payment was already taken out of our account. I was not satisfied with their services and felt lied to and misled. I called the customer service line and spoke to a representative telling her that I do not want the service anymore and how do I go about canceling. She said that I can not cancel without paying 80% of the remaining fees (approx $1,560.00) that would be charged for the next 39 months. I told her that the salesman said that we could cancel at anytime. She then told me that the company is not responsible for what the salesman says, they only go off the signed contract. Of course they do, the signed contract we were lied and scammed into signing! What kind of company is not liable for what their employess tell the consumer? This company is a total scam. Do not fall or their lies!

Anyone Else Gotten Out Of Contract?

AUTHOR: ScammedByPlatinum - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 13, 2012

I was wondering if anyone else has been able to get out of a contract and exactly what it took.  After reading this a couple days ago I called Monotronics and requested to have my account terminated due to being scammed and the fact of Platinum Protection investors being involved in a Ponzi Scheme.

They told me that I would have to get in contact with Platinum Protection customer service because although Monotronics controls the alarm monitoring that my actual contract is still owned by Platinum Protection.

I have yet to call Platinum Protection yet because, honestly, they really piss me off.  I called them the week I signed up for dispute their unfavorable marketing techniques.  Somehow my mother's name and credit we're pulled to sign up the account at my house.  They state that she signed for the contract even though she was not here and I was the one that was fooled into signing the contract.

So right now they are messing up her credit for something she didn't even sign because I refuse to make payments to these scam artists.  I talked to a manager that said he would take her off of the contract but it still hasn't been done in over a year now.

I To have been riped off and lied to.

AUTHOR: Consumer superman helper - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 17, 2012

I also was promised lots of things from these  crooks they came to utah and they also promised me many of things which they have never delivered. I also contacted them to tell them my system wasn't working and they called me a liar.

I got called three times and was treated so rudely and told I was a liar that they caused me to have heart problems and a lot of stress at work because they keep harrasing me at work to tell me I was I liar. This was because I called them about my problems.

I was promised things from the sales man that they never delivered. They promised upgrades that have never happened. They also told me to just say yes and agree to every thing the rep ask when they were done or I couldn't have my free system and that I needed to just say yes or I would regreat it? I was so upset by what they were telling me I just did it because they made you fell like something bad would happen if you didn't

They didn't teach me how to use my system I had to call the monitoring company to learn that?

My system works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't they sent a tech who didn't fix it with out contacting me also. So I have to pay 50 a month for a system that doesn't work.
