This company is amongst the worst of all collection agencies. I took over as manager at this motel in June 2009 and for the past three months they have been calling every day after a I presume ex tenant I have never heard of.
I have told them several times I have never heard of this individual but the calls continue daily seven days a week. Despite promises, the occasional times I actually got a human operator who stated she would remove the motel phone number nothing ever seems to happen.
From seeing other posts here about them it seems they buy old debts that are way past any collection action and then try to harass people into paying money they do not legally owe. I would advise anyone getting calls from this company to report them immediately to the FCC and don't even bother trying to "set matters straight" as they are not interested in customer service, just getting someone to pay them!
Please note everyone they will never use an actual human to phone and talk to you even if they promise this, they seem to solely use automated calling and answering so you cannot without much trouble talk to them.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Look up the Telephone Consumer Protection Act

Are they calling the business line or a cell phone? If they are calling a cell phone, then the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) might be able to help you stop this harrassment. Look up the TCPA and how to use it against Portfolio Recovery Associates (PRA). You may be able to recover $500 per phone call (in some instances this can be 3 times the amount) after you notify them, in writing, that they are contacting the wrong person. The key here is that PRA is using an automated dialer. There are specific criteria in the TCPA so look it up to see if your situation fits. You might want to check out a couple of the credit sites like debtorboards or creditinfocenter to see how to use the TCPA against this debt collector for your benefit.
