I supposedly owe approximately $650had an account form U.S. Cellular from 7 years ago that this company continues to call me in regards to.  This account was closed due to a billing error on the part of U.S. Cellular after they charged me per minute for every phone call that was made on 2 cell phones
that were on their service.  I contacted U.S. Cellular at the time and they agreed to adjust my bill, and I paid the amount that they gave me as what should have been billed originally.  I have told this to Portfolio Recovery as well as submitted a dispute in writing 3 times which they claim they have never
received.  I recently opened a new account with U.S. Cellular and did not have to pay any type of deposit and no mention was made of me having a past due account with them.  They still today show no old debt on their records.  If the original creditor does not show this account as having anything owed on it how is this collection company trying to collect?

I contacted the Better Business Bureau and the company nearly immediately found an error on their end and deleted the account and my record.

Here is the response the BBB received from this company:

Thank you for bringing this matter to the attention of our office. Portfolio Recovery Associates has concluded its investigation of the consumer's dispute, closed the account ending in 7592 and
determined to refrain from further collection communications with the consumer in regard to the account.

Kinda funny how I brought this to their attention 3 times and nothing was ever done about it and the harassment continued until I got the BBB involved, then all of the sudden: OOPS we made a mistake we will fix it!

One of the nations largest criminal organizations, maybe as big as Enterprise car rental, according to Bud Hibbs. Check out his website. Just add .com to his name.
