portfolio recovery associates harassing phone calls with bogus debt claims Norfolk Virginia

So at 9pm my time, I get a phone call from Norfolk, Virginia. As I go to answer, they hang up on me. My husband, who loves to mess with telemarketers, immediately calls back. He gets an automated message, saying it was Portfolio Recovery Associates. I whispered to him "scam" because I had already read about them online, how they call random people with bogus claims of debt. He then gets an operator, who proceeds to ask for his SS#. My husband says "no, you called me and hung up. What do you need?" They proceed to ask for his account # so that they can pull up his profile. He then starts to ask to speak with a supervisor, because it's all a scam. They refuse and hang up on him. My husband takes this as a challenge and calls back 7 or 8 times, repeating the process as before, each time asking to speak to a supervisor, and when the operators would get rude and gruff, he would do the same. Finally, he calls back pretending to be a naive redneck, and he finally makes it through to a supervisor. This supervisor is even more rude and unprofessional, because my husband wouldn't give a SS# and told her that the company was a scam, and it was all over the internet, and that they needed to stop calling. She proceeds to tell my husband that he is misinformed, and needs to hang up right away. My husband tells her to stop calling and go die, and she hangs up again. I can't wait for them to call again.
