I made (and paid for) reservations for  a private sedan to pick up at the airport. The company left me stranded at LAX at 1:00AM.  They casually said to "find alternate transportation" home.

They refunded the money I paid them but refused to refund the amount it cost me to take a taxi home. They feel that their multiple apologies are enough, but they are dead wrong. You do NOT leave a woman stranded in Los Angeles!

They told the Better Business Bureau that they apologized, and would not refund the taxi. Paying for the taxi is the LEAST they should do!

Do not use this company. They do not answer the phone when you call, and getting a supervisor to speak with you takes longer than getting an appointment for the dentist.  Beware of them. They do NOT deliver what they promise!

The Least They Could Do

The company left me crying at the airport for more than 2 hours. To me, this is stranded. 

I am NOT trying to "take advantage of" any situtation. I would have preferred to have been picked up as promised and taken home as paid for. Filing complaint after complaint is not something I enjoy. I am making future customers aware of what could happen to them if they try to use your service.

If a supervisor would have spoken with me, as requested, in the day or two after the incident, I probably would have dropped the whole thing. But, I still have yet to talk to one. I actually DID get a call from one last Thursday while I was at a medical appointment. I called back an hour later and was told she was on another call and would call me back when that call ended. This return call never happened. This lack of customer service causes people to get angry and fuels an already bad situation.

What would I have done if I had not had any money with me to pay for alternate transportation? There are times I return home with just enough money to pay for a tip. I thank God I was not by myself because I woud have been terrified. Maybe you don't understand what it feels like to be a woman in Los Angeles at 1:00 AM and not know how you will get home.

Refunding the fee I paid was obvious. You did not provide the service I paid for, so I totally expected that to happen. But ethical companies need to treat customers as if their business matters. Judging from all of the negative reviews I have been reading online, yours does not. I am far from the first person who has been left without a ride.

I was truthful in my review. The facts are that your company should have picked me up as promised, or had an alternate plan ready if your own employees dropped the ball. Your employees should have helped with the situation. They did not, neither then nor afterwards.

Unreasonable demand

Let me just start off by saying that if everything you stated is 100% true and you didn't leave anything out, then I would agree with you that they did not provide the service you had paid for.  That would be a legitimate complaint.

However, your demand that they in effect give you a free ride to your destination is unreasonable. They refunded your money and on top of that you want them to pay for the entire taxi ride.  You say that is the "least" they could do.  No...the least they could have done was to tell you "tough luck" and kept your money, perhaps offering you a credit toward a future ride.  Instead they gave you a full refund of what you had paid them.  Had you come here and said that they should pay the difference in what it costs between their service and a taxi I would again be right with you.  But you didn't, so your complaint turns from legitimate to unreasonable and where you are now the one trying to take advantage of the situation.

By the way, you weren't exactly "stranded".  It isn't like you were dropped off in the middle of the desert at 3AM with all of your bags.  You were at one of the busiest airports in the world. Where even at that time of morning I can guarantee you that there were several taxi cabs queued up and ready to free you from your "isolation".
