I was a loyal customer with a multi-vehicle policy with Progressive for nearly 13 years with no accidents and full coverage insurance. I had my new SUV stolen from my driveway as I was unloading the vehicle in my front yard, the police were contacted and Progressive was contacted ASAP. I'm disabled from the lingering effects from a Stroke so I'm partailly paralized and can't write.

The Claime rep. contacted me and proceeded to mail me this volumous folder of paperwork to complete, which I called and explained I would need some assistance in doing because of my disablity. He seemed annoyed but made an appointment to help me fill out the forms. My vehicle was recovered badly damaged about 13 days later and he did not estimate the damages for another 4 days.

Then he wanted to repair the new vehicle with used/rebuilt parts which the manufacture warrenty would no longer cover, I had no way to have the dealer even look at the running gear to see how much damage might have occurred because the wheels were also stolen.

At the 30 day mark, they took away my rental car and there was no bus service in that area of Phoenix and with 115 degree temperatures it would not be wise for stand in that heat and wait for a ride. The AZ. State Ins. Commision did nothing to help, and a State Farm Agent did his best to try and get my problems resolved....Needless to say I dropped Progressive and have State Farm as my carrier.

I just can't believe how insentive people can be, that taking a moment to try and help process a claim on behalf of a paying client becomes such a drudgery and a heartache that after 13 years I have to be the one to change companies, and get no support from my State Insurance Commision.... I only hope this guy who handled my claim and was so PUT-OUT by doing his job and helping me be struck down by a massive Stroke like I did and have to deal with rude people like him in the future!

A Follow up on this Scam perpertutated by Progressive Insurance. Be Aware!! They will try and convince you that they will restore your vehicle back to it's "Pre'loss Condition and the initial estimate was only $9,336.31 and they refused to claim my vehicle a total loss although it had been heavily damaged and the replacement parts they were offering would void the new car warranty, however further investigation showed that Progressive wound up paying the dealer $12072.71 which was more than the claimed 75% Fair Market Value for the vehicle and forced me to change insurance companies because of their poor service buy another vehicle to replace the vehicle I loved. Everyone at the dealer couldn't understand why in the world anyone who saw that pile of junk that was recovered wasn't totaled to begin with. The vehicle according to CarFax was sold several times and wound up in Utah at an auction sale.

It's unfair that Progressive takes advantage of disabled people that can't do physical labor and try and pass off a wreck of a vehicle with a low ball estimate with the knowledge you will have no transportation to ever see the vehicle agin once they take away your rental car, and then they wind up paying way more than they claimed would ever be possible to fix my vehicle......DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE SNAKES!!!!!!

OTHER THAN THE MANUFACTURER OF YOUR MOTOR VEHICLE. WARRANTIES APPLICABLE TO THESE
REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURER OR DISTRIBUTOR OF THESE PARTS RATHER
THAN THE MANUFACTURER OF YOUR VEHICLE. WARNING!!!!!! It is a false claim to say that you will return a new vehicle to "Pre-Loss" conditions when there is no longer a factory warranty to cover said car. The vehicle's " Market Value" without a Factory "Bumper to Bumper" Warranty is significantly depreciated, from the percieved "Stated Value" with a Warranty. It wasn't until 6/08/2006 when the vehicle was transported to the dealer for a mechanical inspection. No inspection could be performed until wheels could be found to move the vehicle. After 14 more days my rental car was taken away, and I was told to take a bus!

The Claims Agent Responsible for the utter disrepect and bumbling of my claim was a Mr. David Smith located @ 5651 W. Talavi Blvd, Suite 150 Glendale, AZ 85306 .

I Was unable to get transporation to ever see my car again, my factory warranty would be null and void, Progressive insisted that the vehicle could be returned to "pre-loss conditions" I replaced the vehicle and change insures to State Farm. I am considering a civil action..
