i opened an account with propay to give my customers an alternate payment method.

as soon as my customer paid them, they "closed" the account, and did not reefund my cusotmer, ripping them off for the purchase price of the item.

looking into propay, on the front page of their website, they claim to be agents of wells fargo mbank, and metabank of south dakota.

i called wells fargo bank they said: propay is not an affiliate or agent of ours, and we never heard of them, it may be they hav an account with us, but we can;t share that information.

metabank says: we issue debit cards for propay accounts with propay's name n them, but they are not owned operated or affiliated with metabank.

this is a ver blatant rip off of people money, and personally identifying information.

in addition they pulled a personal credit report without authorization. i guess they check the financial hralth of their inended victims to see how much thwy can steal?

PROPAY REALLY IS A SCAM!!

AUTHOR: Fraud Investigator - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, March 24, 2012

That 'person' who represents PROPAY company is a LIAR! TOTAL FRAUD! They did the EXACT SAME THING TO ME! And THOUSANDS OF OTHERS TOO!!  Dont believe a WORD they say, they RIP OFF customers, and KEEP their money, PERIOD!! They do NOT support their merchants at ALL. People should get together and CLOSE THEIR OWN MERCHANT ACCOUNT THAT PROPAY USES!! Go straight to the SOURCE, and CUT THEM OFF, so they cannot SCAM any more people out of their HARD EARNED MONEY! PERIOD!

ProPay Clarification

AUTHOR: Lance - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, October 09, 2009

The report filed on ProPay is inaccurate. This customer's account was closed simply because he doesn't meet our internal requirements for a merchant account. The criteria to have a ProPay account was too low (based on a credit based tool) and well as his feedback and DSR scores with eBay don't meet our requirements. The annual fee was refunded immediately and the customer was refunded. All parties have been made whole. The terms and conditions listed on the ProPay website under "Legal Agreements" clearly state that we are authorized to use a consumers credit score when making a decision to open a merchant account.

ProPay is sponsored by Wells Fargo to conduct merchant business and MetaBank for card issuance.
