Pushpin Holdings, LLC Mr. Redwood demanded payment without providing proof of debt New York New York

I received a phone call today, February 11, 2014, from Mr. Redwood from Pushpin,LLC demanding payment for a credit card machine that was leased in 2001. 18 months later it was returned to the vendor, POS Capital, as a result of faulty equipment that was unable to be repaired. Mr. Redwood said it was returned to the vendor and not the leasing company. I told him it was resolved over 12 years ago and that the business is closed and I am retired. I asked for a copy of the lease and was told that I had to pay $625.00 to settle the debt. He did not have the lease and only information from a credit report???  I said this sounds bogus and I wanted the lease. He again demanded payment or a lawyer from Illinois by the name of Ari Madeoff would file legal action.  I asked to speak to his manager and was told he was the manager and that he reported to no one in his company. He reports to Ari Madeoff. I thought this was a senior citizen scam and told him same. I also asked for a settlement letter. The letter came via email and was written where I would pay with no proof of owning the money (I didn't owe) and he would follow up with a release letter. He also accessed my credit file without my authority and I informed him that I would be in touch. I googled his company and found numerous filed complaints very similar to what he attempted to perpetrate on me. I called him back and informed him as to what I discovered and that I was not going to be part of this scam. He said "fine" and proceeded to hang up on me. I intend to file a complaint with federal agencys, as well.
