We moved from NYC to SF with these guys and selecting them may be the biggest mistake I have ever made. They are scam artists.

Our goods were picked up in Queens on Aug. 27. Though our service rep James said Quest was a moving company and not a broker, another moving company picked up our goods - Economic Moving Company. They said our cubic feet were allegedly over estimate by more than 200 cubic feet. I paid more than $1K what I was quoted at time of booking.

After weeks of calling and not having my calls returned, on Sept. 26, a man called from Quest and told us to expect delivery on Sept. 27, but no driver ever arrived and the company would not return calls. Days later, the company only told the delivery was cancelled when I threatened to report the shipment stolen.

As of October 5, 2018, 24 days had passed since the beginning of our 3-21 business day delivery window. As of that day, Quest Moving LLC could provide no schedule or estimated timeline for our delivery.

The last communication of any kind with Quest was on Saturday, Sept. 29, when customer service representative Whitney Wade said it would likely be delivered that following week. That did not happen.

We learned our goods were being kept in a warehouse in LA. Because Quest had no idea when our goods would be delivered and had stopped returning our calls (and completely lost our trust,) we flew to LA, rented a UHaul and took the goods from the warehouse ourselves on Oct. 5. The warehouse would not release our goods without paying the remaining balance, but hey, at least we got our stuff.

One dresser, filled with clothing, was missing altogether. Many other items were broken including out flatscreen TV. Our shipment included items belonging to other people. Quest has still never returned our calls.

We have filed complaints about Quest with the BBB, US DOT and the inspector general, and have consulted with a plaintiff's attorney regarding future steps. We filed a moving claim for the refund and missing items with their claims provider, MovingClaims.net. That claims provider reported to us on December 11, 2018 that Quest had terminated their relationship and our claim was terminated. Quest's phone numbers now go to a new company called Moving Relocation Systems and their website no longer exists. I assume this is their company under a new name - the phone system is identical - and they are also not returning my calls to find out their new claims provider.

You Should Have Done A Better Job of Picking a Mover

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States)

POSTED: Monday, January 14, 2019

Though our service rep James said Quest was a moving company and not a broker, another moving company picked up our goods - Economic Moving Company.  At the time you had your items picked up, Quest lost their operating authority with the Federal Government to perform any moves, so yes they brokered out your move.  Now, had you gone to Safersys, the FMCSA site that provides the most up-to-date information on a mover, not only would the site have shown they lost their authority, they only had one truck.  Do you think their one truck, which earns all of their revenue, would load your 1400 pounds of stuff for a cross country move?  Your chances of that are VERY low.  Therefore, your chances of your move being brokered out are high.

As you surmised, Quest is no longer in business.  Filing complaints against Quest would seem pointless.  The problem is filing a claim.  I would consider filing a claim against the actual mover.  However, it's no sure bet they or their 3rd party claim adjustor will accept your claim.  If you have the mover's actual paperwork, then you have a chance.  In reality, 3rd party adjustors really work for the moving company - not the customer.

Quest's phone numbers now go to a new company called Moving Relocation Systems and their website no longer exists.  No, I don't believe the companies are related to each other.  MRS is not a new company - just another scam mover who will quote you in cubic feet - anyone who quotes you in cubic feet is a scammer.

Best of luck to you...

Not a fake report

Sounds like Moving Relocation systems has its own problems. My report is real and has to do with Quest Moving, LLC. I suggest whoever posted this rebuttal take it up with Quest that their phone number and phone system goes to a moving provider of the same name, if they are indeed not the same company. Go ahead and try calling the number I have for Quest: 833-783-7800

The allegations that Moving Relocation Systems is associated with Quest Moving LLC DOT # 3078097 are false.  Moving Relocation Systems is in New Jersey and has absolutely no affiliation with Quest.    This review is a result of 2 disgruntled employees Maxx and Josh Soccher which we recently fired for not disclosing their criminal history.  We have not serviced a move for any customers with similar names to the one who "filed this report".  Please remove this fake report.

We request that the author of this report provide evidence to support these allegations!
