As retired customer service instructor, I feel that feedback on your performance is a valuable tool.  On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being outstanding, I would rate Quicken Loans, and my experience at a 3 minus.  I was pre-approved, with flying colors first, then I was dragged through ridiculous paperwork on a FHA loan when clearly the property (REO - bank owned) would not qualify, but despite informing my loan officer, and having the realtor inform him that it would not pass, he insisted on running it FHA.  His justification?  He could run it conventional if it didn't pass FHA standards....No Problem!  So we wasted 3 weeks and $500. and it was eminantly clear that Quicken Loans had no intention of taking the mortgage, just the easy $500.  But it wasn't an easy turndown.  My credit is in the mid to high 700's, and despite the digging back into past homes I had purchased, and a business adventure that didn't make it, they finally denied the application.  What grounds you ask?  Who knows!  The loan officer told me there was "No Problem" and I never received anything denying other than a phone call.  What kind of business operates that way?

So I want to thank them for this experience.  I know thousands of people, more than you could ever imagine who take my experience and recommendations seriously, and I now have another company that ranks in the "con the consumer" category.  I will get my $500. worth telling of the con you pull on people just to get a measly $500.  Congratulations, not only will I never do business with you again, Quicken Loan Rip-off, but you will go to the top of my "do not do business with" list.  And I will do everything I can to pass on your game to the unsuspecting public.  Looks like a good class action lawsuit.  Any lawyers interested?  Lots of people being ripped off.

Response from Quicken Loans

AUTHOR: Kelly at QuickenLoans - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, March 22, 2010

Hi - thanks for posting. I'm Kelly with Quicken Loans. I'm sorry that your home purchase with us didn't work out. I'm not familiar with the details of your loan, but I would like to do some investigating for you.

Regarding your deposit - in case of denial (which you mentioned), you are entitled to a refund minus what we've spent on your behalf. We keep nothing for ourselves in case of denial. Simply put, we gain nothing from working with a client we cannot help.

If you're unfamiliar with the deposit policy, please reference the application you signed, agreeing to and authorizing the charge. The deposit is addressed on the document entitled "Interest Rate Disclosure & Deposit Agreement." You're also welcome to read the policy on our website: https://www.quickenloans.com/about/quicken-loans-deposit or watch our YouTube video about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNumQBaCWMM We try to make it as transparent as possible so as to avoid issues like this.

That being said, if you were not given a reason for denial or explanation as to if there is money left from your deposit, I'd like to look into this right away and get some answers for you. Given the sensitive information associated with mortgages, can you contact me directly? Kelly@QuickenLoans.com is the best way.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Again, I'm sorry this didn't work out, but we certainly appreciate you considering Quicken Loans.

Thanks

Kelly
