Like all of the other unfortunate people on this site, I too was taken advantage of by Quicken Loans. My story is a little different however. My appraisal came back with more than enough value for my loan. Part of the appraisal was to get one of my outbuildings treated for termites ($700.00). Before spending that additional money I verified with the Quicken Loan Specialist both by phone and in writing that everything was good with my loan and I was assured it was. I had the treatment done, and get this, the very next day I was told my loan was denied because the Quicken Underwriter did not agree with the Appraisers assessment of my home. The Appraiser by the way was not one I picked. Quicken worked with the VA and the VA assigned the appraiser; and they tend to be a lot stricter than most. So in the end, Quicken admitted I was misled however refused to refund any part of what I spent (Earnest Deposit or Treatment totaling over $1,100.00). I went to another local lender and got my loan with no problems. If you are fortunate enough to be reading this message before you work with Quicken. Dont just walk, run the other direction of Quicken Loans.

Great Simple Report

AUTHOR: Bman - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, November 27, 2011

I was stung by this nasty unethical company, run by one of the most parasitic people in the 1% in America today, true to form a lawyer with a tongue of gold with deep pockets. A couple of years ago - after seeing a advertisement concerning Obama's new lower interest deal, I then contacted RateMyMortgage and then was aggressively lobbied by Quicken to a very bad result. Yes, yours is a new wrinkle - of course if your inspector is connected to some other business or the local authorities and not theirs they cannot generate more money from you. I am sure that this is not what President Obama had in mind, where good faith people are put into a worse situation than when they contacted this company. I am sorry for your loss of money.
