Ramada Plaza Resort is totally misleading. Rip-off! FORT LAUDERDALE Florida

In September 2000 I received a letter from Ramada Plaza Resorts in the Mail. With an offer for a 3 day 2 night stay in Fort Lauderdale, FL; a 2 night cruise to the Bahamas; and a 2 night stay in Fort Lauderdale upon return from the cruise with a car rental for the duration of the offer. All for discounted cost of $300.00. My husband and I called and was given the details All this time honestly thought this was the Ramada Inn Resorts. However by this time they told us of the many bonus trips we can take whem we purchase the package was now at $1044.00. We were in the process of planning for a vacation so we thought it was still a good offer. However, when we mentioned the kids the price went up another $1400.00.

We were asked to pay $700.00 to reserve the vacation, that we did on Sept 11, 2000. We were told we could cancel anytime and the downpayment would be refunded less $50.00. But when we tried to cancel 3 days later they said he money was already paid up to the comapnies that would provide the accomodation and we could not get a refund. Their suggestion was that we should extend the vacation. That way we could use this at a later date.That we did But close to the extended date we tried again to get the refund because by then we would not be able to take that trip, we were still refused a refund. They told us it expired.

We did not hear from them since 2001 when they told us the package had expired. Now for the past 2 weeks they have been calling stating that we have $700.00 in our account and for us to to loose it we should pay $580.00 to stay in Orlando or Ft. Lauderdale. with 2 free Disney Tickets.

I have asked that since I have $700.00 can't I use that for just hotel accomodation, her response was no.
I want to know how I can get my money back or at least a part of it. I would even settle for the amount used for my hotel accomodation without me paying anything additional. Since there is no cruise involved.
