RAMADA PLAZA RESORTS RAMADA PLAZA RESORTS, Orlando /Fort Lauderdale Vacations consumer rip-off fraud; A vacation package was sold to me for a total amount of usd 498, when i decided to use it they asked me to pay additional usd 598. dishonest ripoffs Fort Lauderdale Florida .....

On August 2001 i received at Caracas, venezuela (Country where i have my residence)a vacations packege credit coupon of usd 987.00, signed by Mr. dan Lambert (authorized signator of Ramada Plaza Resorts). The package included; 2 nights at R.P.R. universal Studios Florida, at Orlando Fl; 2 nights at Nassau Bahamas travelling with the caribbean Cruise Line (Imperial Majesty/Carnival); 3 nights ar R:P:R: Fort Lauderdale, Fl. and car rental for 7 days with Alamo rent-a-car. Coupon stated that i should be calling back as soon as i received the coupon, so i did call them back.

i was informed that paying the amount of usd 498.00 i would be entitle to a credit of usd 987.00, so even when a refused at the begining to accept the offer considering that i have a place to stay when a go to Florida and also considering the fact that i do not travel very often to U.S.A. they insisted and told me about the great saving benefits of accepting this offer, so i gave my approval to charge my visa card understanding all the benefits included and also that transportation to U.s.a should go under my own expenses.

This conversation was recorded by Ramada for quality purposes so it is easy to verify my confusion at the moment that i am also notified that at the moment of reservation i would have to pay usd 299.00 p/p. In the recorded conversation you can note my absolutely confusion regarding this reservation payment so i try to make sure with the saleswoman the the only amount that i have to pay and that a few minutes ago i approved was usd 498.00 without any additional surprises and you can notice how quick the saleswoman change the subject and start talking about all the other great benefits of our deal.

To me is very important to take this two considerations: First, it could never going through my mind tha a reservation would cost more than the package paid, it simply does not make any sense; Second, they are calling to another country in some kind of a hurry trying to sell me a vacation package in a record time even when it is a fact that my primarely language is spanish and barely english.

Absolutely upset and dissapointed i feel that i was victim of a fraud and since that moment i have been trying to contact the manager or someone at the legal department and that opportunity has been always denied to me. Finaly i am trying to place this complaint through consumer department because as a lawyer that i am at Venezuela i feel absolutely deceived and after verifying in some web pages a have been able to confirm that ther are many complaints againg Ramadsa resorts regarding this kind of offer.
