I'll just make this simple. My wife and I bought a pool from rec warehouse. We installed it ourselves and any time I needed advise the manager at the Greensboro location was more than happy to talk to me on the phone. Now about your sand bags. Our pool kit came with a ladder. It is actually a staircase in the pool. In that box there were two sand bags and I wondered, "Hmmmm, what are these for?" We found out. We only put one under the 'stair' part of the ladder and it works just fine. One last question, why did you go a whole season with a floating ladder? Wal-Mart has sand bags for $1.99 each.

I'm trying to see how you we're treated improperly. You did not receive a defected ladder. Every ladder for above ground pool requires some kind of anchor. Sand works well and every pool store will tell you the same thing. Shame on you for attempting to ruin the name of a company when there was nothing wrong done. If you paid $3000 for the pool you actually received a bag inside of the box for this very reason to put sand in it...

I'm trying to figure this one out. You went back to the store, and they told you exactly what is told to every other customer that calls in about the same situation. And your still upset? They told you what to do, but I would use the bagged rocks. They do not make your water cloudy, improper water chemistry, probably low Ph level, makes your water cloudy. You do have to weight the steps down to keep them from floating. Also, you have to attach the steps to the top rail of the pool to keep it from shifting around. With none of these done for 2 years now, you probably have worn a hole in the liner from the steps sliding around. It is also a good idea to put a bath mat or some sort of barrier between the steps and the liner, as a precaution.

The store hasn't neglected you or your concern, you just didn't know what to do. As just about all first time pool owners don't know. So, before you bash a company, ask around, contact other pool companies in the area that carry steps like yours or equivalent, and see how they anchor their steps to pools.
