My family was a regular visitor to our local Red Lobster for lunch, and occasionally dinner. On average we would visit 3-4 times per month.

One of our favorite dishes is the Sailors Platter, which they only have on their lunch menu. When we have visited for dinner, they have still offered the Sailors Platter, for approximately $3.00 additional, due to it being dinner hour.

On August 4, 2016 we visited during the dinner hour, in the mood for seafood. Our server was Lee S. After being seated, we sat and waited quite some time before he even came over to welcome us, or even get our drink orders. Once we received our drinks (finally), we went to place our meal orders.

We requested 2 sailors platters, to which Lee stated we couldn't get, but he would work something up that would be close in price. We trusted our server to be honest with us. The third plate was honey glazed chicken with wood grilled shrimp, which we have received previously at the dinner hour, exactly like on the lunch menu, but with the additional of a salad for $3.00 additional. Once again, Lee stated that we couldn't get that plate, but he would work something up that would be close in price.

Our food arrived, finally. Drink refills were a challenge. I was beginning to wonder if I needed to go get my own refills.

When the check arrived, I was shocked to see that Lee was NOT honest with us, and what he "worked up" was no where even close to prices we have paid before. For the Sailors Platters, rather than the price of $10.49, he charged us $24.49. For the grilled chicken, rather than the price of $9.79, he charged $19.79.

Service had been so horrible, the worst we had ever encountered, that we paid the bill, left, and I went home and did their survey listed on their receipt. Overall, they received very poor scores from me. On August 10, 2016 I received a call from Red Lobster, of course when I was working. From the voicemail that was left it was very difficult to understand. The callers name sounded like Ann Roskin the general manager at Red Lobster in Spokane, but when I called back about 15 minutes after their call, I was told that their general manager was Andrew. I waited on hold for 15 minutes, then finally hung up. I have a life, and it's not going to be wasted sitting on hold. I again attempted 3 additional calls, which I left my name and my phone number. I even personally went into the restaurant when I was close to it, left my name and number again, since the general manager was not in.

To date, 3 months later, the general manager has not felt that I'm worth being contacted back. In my survey, I stated that I would give a reasonable period of time to have my complaint addressed, before I started posting my experience on social media and sites across the internet. I think 3 months is more than reasonable, so here we go: I personally recommend that every person in America boycot and avoid Red Lobster at all costs. They show that they could give a d**n about a customer, and are more than happy with charging more than DOUBLE for meals. Avoid them.

OMG...

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

Let me just say that at best this is a Customer Service Issue, as the waiter should have given you a price up front.  Especially if you go from what you are expecting to be about a $30 meal turns into a $70 meal.  But that is where the agreement ends...

First off what you are asking for is NOT on the Dinner Menu, so what you "expect" means exactly NOTHING.  But as I said on an "off menu" item, it would be good for the staff to advise you of the price before it is placed in order to avoid awkward moments later on.  However, if they don't then since you are basically making a special request it would be up to you to find out the price.

With the supposed bad service you received along with basically an extra $40 you think you are being charged, the fact that you didn't bring this up at that time indicates that you may not have considered it really that big of a deal at the time.

This in addition of you being a "regular", had you complained right then it would have been very likely that the manager on duty would have at least try and come to some copromise if you had any legitimate complaint.  Because  you are seen as a regular.  Unless as a "regular" you are also a constant complainer.  Perhaps this was a simple case of him entering it into the system wrong.  But since you didn't do this we will never know what would have been.

Oh and before you ask, no I am not now or have I ever been an employee of this or any resturant.  In fact I don't think I have stepped in a Red Lobster for a few years because our closest one is a bit too far.
