I went to Regis Hair Salon on a whim (I do usually go to the Regis in the Emerald Square Mall and have always loved it-I have been to the Braintree location once as well and thought it was excellent) because I wanted highlights. I was very clear when I told the stylist Susie that I did not want any yellow. Now generally they use a bleach that already has a toner in it. They also usually bring a color book. Susie didn't feel the need and I guess at that point I should have asked.

Well Susie seemed like she knew what she was doing so I let her get to it. She placed the highlights in and I waited, she washed it out and blew out a couple of inches so I could see it and she exclaimed "see it is a nice banana yellow". I almost died. I said to her "I said I didnt want it to look yellow." She apologized and said "Oh my god I thought you said you did want yellow" She quickly scurried into the back to mix up a toner. She toned it and after all was said and done it didn't look "that bad", well in their lighting anyways.

When I got home I started looking at it and the highlights were bright yellow at the top and then went into an orange. It looked like either she didnt use the right product or didnt leave it on long enough. I called the salon and explained the situation, or at least tried. The manager Lisa was IMMEDIATELY defensive and said she helped Susie mix the color and Susie had told her that I didnt want any yellow. She said I could come in and get it toned. I explained that she had already toned it and it hasnt helped. Well I figured what else am I doing to do?

So I went in this morning and Lisa was so defensive. I asked what the options were and she said they were going to tone down the colors. I advised that I dont really believe that this is going to correct the problem and that this is not what I asked for. I explained that I almost feel better about dying it back brown. She said I will have to sign a waiver as that will be a corrective color (so she admits that this is something that requires some correction). She also explained that it will probablt not look good since the color is not going to take as well where the highlights are. I said that if they dye it brown I would like a refund because it is not what I asked for. She argued with me and said fine we are not doing it. She asked me to leave. I got her corporate number and left a message, no one called me back. I went back into the salon and she said she called and asked them to send me a refund. i thanked her and left.

I also called the number again to make sure everything was all set with the refind and explained the situation. She said that in the manager's report that I threw a tantrum and was using the F word (which I never did). I guess if you dont agree with them then you must be having a tantrum. I explained to Kate that of course I was upset what do they expect. She said that they are sending me $80 and a letter saying that I shouldnt come back...I said that they do NOT have to worry about that.

I suggest no one else go there as well.

Now I am going to have to pay to get a corrective color which will likely cost me about $300. Thanks LISA AND SUSIE, now I will say it----GO F*CK YOURSELF!

I am a hairstylist. Absolutely do not go pay $300 to get a corrective color! Maybe at the most you would need a filler, and then a haircolor which both start at $45 at my salon, so altogether it would start at $90, depending on the length which is $10 each extra application, so long hair probably no more than 3 bowls of each so about 4 extra, i mean in you have long normal hair. i would call around and get estimates but you should not be charged $300. also, if you want the blonde still, you could always get the highlights redone, as they will get lighter. Good luck and sorry you got stuck with a rotten stylist!
