 I went online seeking help with my resume for my internship in college and I typed in resume and REsume Genius was at the top of the page and in this location indicated that their service was free. After completing the forms they then informed me that there would be a charge of 3.99 not indicating anywhere inthe text of that location that there may be other possilble charges nor did it indicate in that location that they would be storing my credit card information in their computer system. I made contact with Resume genius to cure and they informed me that this was standard business practice at Resume genius and that it was my responsilbility to seek out this information on their website,which would not be expected by any normal person. I was not aprised of any additional charges but they did try to charge my account and over drew it costing me fees and charges at my bank. My issue is with the delivery of the cost of their service as it does not conform with what would be considered disclosure of the ammount to be charge. they did not properly incule this in the literature of the page that you pay on and deceptive in not including the full cost or charges. They hide the facts in the terms of use which would not boe expected by a resonable person nor would you expect to have to comb their entire site to make sure that you discover all hidden costs of that service and I beleive they have broken the law. The matter is in kind of a grey area in my opinion as it would be a subject of tort law ( A wrong for which the courts will supply a remedy). I have reported them to th FTC, IC3(FBI-Internet Crimes Division) and the Maryland, Mongomery county Police department for investigation and I plan to continue with my anti-Resume Genius Campaign until Such time as they return what they have cost me and are punished for their crime.
