For $1.99 Resume Genius advertises you can use one of their templates and receive feedback on your finished resume. The number of available templates was limited but I found one I thought could work. Took two times to enter data because you have to save TWICE to preserve information. So I wasted about an hour entering information I thought was being saved but wasn't. I used their chat support to confirm what had happened. Could be a better interface but for $2 it was acceptible. Becuase it took so long to enter information I hadn't polished the finsih product by the time I quit for the day. Nevertheless Resume Genius sent boiler plate feedback tellingme what was wrong with my resume and that for $99 I could have a professional redo it. Becuase the resume wasn't close to being ready to have it looked at it by their experts, the feedback was useless. Given the feedback I imagine they use some kind of automated review system to review reseumes. Still it was just $2 so no big deal. Today when I looked at my Visa billl I saw a charge from them for $39.95. Apparently I was supposed to call and cancel a service that you are automatically signed up for when you opt for the $1.99 template. I wasn't aware of this. I called their office and was told the information about this service was given to me several times. I don't recall understanding this was part of the $1.99 template deal. I was not refunded my money so just cancelled the service and confirmed I would not be receiving another charge. Resume Genius gets my $39.95 for absolutely nothing in return. This company claims to service unemployeed people but has no qulams about taking 40 bucks for nothing from people who don't have a job. I want to warn other people to steer clear of this $1.99 offer. It's a trick.
