Rheem is one of the worst companies for water heating. I had three technicians authorized by Rheem who showed up and could not fix the water heater. They all said that Rheem was a horrible company and I should not have gotten it from them. Unfortunately, my brand NEW home came with a NEW Rheem Tankless Waterheater.
#1, they are hard to contact. If you go to their website, they do not list a phone number. I wonder why... I had to do a lot of internet digging to pull their number up.
#2, their customer service reprs will AVOID you since they have your phone number listed on their ID. I had proof when after countless calls, they told me they had caller ID. The local technician also said they are known for this.
#3, they do not back up their warranty. I had told them countless times that all the technicians had tried to trouble shoot it correctly and they all said they couldn't do it and was unwilling to send me a new unit.
Absolute horrible company to work with. From products to service. I don't know how they are in business.

Try the distributor...

I work in a similar business and have a suggestion for you. Rheem probably will not talk to you - the homeowner. Don't waste any more time with them. You need to find out who the local Rheem distributor is in your area. Note I said the distributor...not Rheem, not the service company, but the wholesale distributor that buys them from Rheem and then sells them to local installers. Often times the local distributor has a process in place for resolving homeowner issues. I would start your quest by calling some of the local plumbing supply houses (look in the yellow pages under "plumbing supplies" or "plumbing wholesalers" and asking if they are a Rheem water heater distributor. If they say "yes" - then you found the right company. They are probably local - so go down there and talk to someone.
