My boyfriend and I have been looking around for the right car for a while, I own a Chevy Malibu LS and am handing it down to my sister as her first car. We came accross the Toyota Camry and thought it'd be a good idea to go to the Toyota dealership, 10 minutes from my apartment.

We were greeted by what seemed an awkward salesman named "David Noonan" and we let him know that we would like to take a look at the Camry's interior. I'm sure anyone else out there looking for a Camry knows that the online pictures are very bad. He said there were none out in the main lot but they had some in the back that according to him belonged to other customers. We sat in the car and turned it on to see the displays and such and were somewhat left a little uneasy that David had no clue what some of the specs were on the car,i.e. fog lights, engine, etc... Much less did he know the differences between the LE and the CE. So we had enough of looking in the car and began heading back towards the front, he asked if we'd like to go in and do some figures...we figured, "hey it won't hurt."

As we walked into the cubicle he told us that we could do a test drive on the one we had just looked at in the back. We didn't think anything of it and went for a 5 minute drive.

Upon returning, we sat down, and he gave us some figures for financing a 2007 Camry LE with $5k down. I was being honest and let him know that it was not within my price range, the only way it'd be in my price range would be if I were to receive the car at invoice price. He went to ask his sales manager if that would be possible, and he came back with the manager. He told us we could lease for a much affordable price. I was uneasy about leasing until he gave me a $0/250-270 per month offer. I thought it was perfect. I told him my dad would be the one co-signing my loan and I would need to speak to him first before making any sort of decision. The weird thing when they gave me the offer was that they had said I could even get that Camry we had done a test-drive on that night, which was being held for a customer.

I let the sales manager know that Monday would be more appropriate for them to contact my dad and collect his information. He aggreed and I asked him for a business card. The card read "Chris Block." We shook hands and David said he would give me a call on Monday.

On Sunday, I was very ecstatic about the whole deal, my dad thought it was all a good idea. I called David and he did not answer, which was fine, I left him a voicemail letting him know I changed my mind on the color preferences. There were no cars avaiable on the lot so he had had me give him a list of colors I would prefer. He did not return my call on Sunday, I figured he was probably not at work.

Come Monday (6/12), still no call right around 4 PM. I called my boyfriend and told him that he should call David because Monday was the day we had aggreed upon would be reasonable to call my dad. David did not answer up until around 5:30 PM, and told my boyfriend he was not at his desk and the call was dropped. We called "Chris Block" and he didn't answer either, and I, like an idiot, left him a voicemail asking him to forward any salesman to me that is available because David is not doing a decent job.

We call the dealership and they tell us David had already left and Chris was off. We decided to drive to the dealership and have someone contact my dad to fill out his credit app. A free salesman offered to help and he contacted my dad. He acted very shady and never ran his credit. He told us he would be forwarding it to David, so he could work on it. So that wasn't much help, except for the fact they got the credit info out of the way.

Tuesday, mid-afternoon, my boyfriend calls David to let him know that we had gone in and had my dad contacted, so the credit app was filled out. He asked my boyfriend "What kind of deal were you looking for?" Like as if the jerk did not remember, my boyfriend re-stated what "Chris Block" had told us... and come to find out, he told my boyfriend that we never spoke to "Chris Block", the sales manager's name was John Ferris. So that's a shoker already. He then told my boyfriend they could not do the deal, my boyfriend told him that we were told that they'd give us until Monday to decide. David then responded with, "the deal was only for that night. and we were seeing how interested you really were in the car." My boyfriend told me that all of these life, within probably 20 seconds, caught him off-guard and he did not know how to respond. My boyfriend let him know that we would just go elsewhere and hung up on David.

I have contacted the Toyota Customer Service via a 1-800 number and email, and have also tried to reach the CR mananger (Jane) who seems to be on vacation. I have been told by many people to go elsewhere, but I am not going to.

I am a strong believer in having the poeple who need to know of a customer service problem, know. Many times, the higher-up managers never hear from dissatisfied customers and thus become complacent with their sales-staff.

I am giving Right Toyota until tomorrow, Thursday (6/15) before I go in an demand service. This is ridiculous, and these guys are not going to have the upper hand on this. They are there to serve customers and of course make sales. But just like with everything, there is a line between ethical and unethical. If anyone has any advise, let me know! Many Thanks~

Glowing Report on my experience

AUTHOR: Candice - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 21, 2007

I just went to Right Toyota today after going to another Toyota dealer in town and looking at private party cars. I was totally pleased with my experience and would reccomend them to friends. We searched online and within half hour of placing an inquiry I received a pleasant return phone call that was informative, not pushy. In fact, Mike the salesperson who called me was great. When we arrived at the dealership we were greeted nicely and taken right to Mike. Mike was busy was another client (we did not call ahead for an appointment) but his co-worker, Bill Johnson, stepped up right away with Mike's blessing to help us. We determined right away that the had the right price because we had done our homework. We are Costco members so we dealt with the Internet/Costco Fleet department. Because the price was right on with what we expected we made a deal within 30 minutes, moved into the finance department in another 10 minutes and we were done! The person who introduced us to the car's features after purchasing was extremely helpful and courteous.

This is the first time we left any dealership without a major headache. If you are a Costco member, you are getting the car for $200 over invoice and any extras which you CHOOSE to buy like an extended warranty are at dealer cost.

It's not fun for anyone to have bad experiences, I have had them elsewhere but not at SCOTT TOYOTA.

Arizona AG leaves AZ car buyers under the bus

AUTHOR: Stick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 24, 2007

My beef is that Arizona's AG's office seems to look the other way when it comes to auto dealer scams in this state. If they need any help finding deception when it comes to AZ car dealers I can and will help them.

No AG can hold a candle to New York's AG's office. In New York they SPANK auto dealers hard. Shame that our AG can't post any proof that he is willing ot has spanked any car dealers that play deceptive games with car buyers.

Go to the below URL's and peep what I found on New York's AG's office web site. They know how to SPANK them hard!

move on

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 23, 2007

First Rebecca ignore J in Phoenix he's probably an employee at the dealership. Second, move on...just move on to another dealership. These people at Toyota are jerking your chain, they have already proven they can't be trusted why would you want to do business with them now? Third, car dealerships are the worst of all ripoffs, even the Arizona attorney general said that most complaints he recives are from car dealerships.
Fourth, when you enter a car dealership, make sure you know exactly what you can and cannot do, have all your paperwork with you, all your facts and figures in order.
Move on don't waste your time with that dealership.

Hi, Rebeca- some suggestions

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 10, 2006

that may help you A LOT next time. And note that the 2006 Camry is now a leftover- the 2007 Camry is available and is considered a huge improvement over the 2006 Camry.

1. Do your homework- know the car (or truck) you want to buy better than any salesman selling it.

1.1 Know EXACTLY what you want, and then DO NOT change your focus unless you are willing to start all over.

1.2 And a NEW car is a better bet because you know what you are getting (no problems) and you can buy the "same" car at any dealer selling that brand.

1.3 Note there are several car buying websites- visit all of them.

2. Rent the car/truck you are interested in for a weekend as your own zero-pressure demo. This may cost $200 and save you $2000.

3. Arrange you financing ahead of time, and this combined with (1) should avoid your looking at a vehicle that is out of your price range.

4. Never get the hots for ANY vehicle.

4.1 Remember, the dealer wants to sell to make money to feed his poor starving family, and no sale means no income for him.

4.2 You, however, are merely spending money and it would really be better for you if that money remained in your bank account.

5. Never get upset. If you get upset, they can control you. See (4), (4.1), and (4.2)

6. Fax fleet managers for price quotes. Google "Fighting Chance".

WHAT EVER!!

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 10, 2006

I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE FROM RIGHT TOYOTA AND COULD NOT BE ANY HAPPIER WITH MY NEW CAMRY OR THE ASSISTANVE I RECEIVED.

MAYBE THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE DEMANDS YOU PLACED ON THE STAFF?. MAYBE IT IS THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE BAD CREDIT AND HAD TO GET YOUR DADDY TO CO-SIGN FOR YOU?

I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT I LOVE EVERYONE AT RIGHT TOYOTA AND HAVE PURCHASED MY LAST THREE TOYOTAS FROM THEM AND SERVICE ALL MY VEHICLES WITH THEM ON A REGULAR BASIC.

ONE TIME I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO BE SERVICED AT ANOTHER TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN THE VALLY AND THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED OVER $1200.00 IN REPAIR WORK ON MY 4 YEAR OLD CAR. I TOOK MY CAR TO RIGHT TOYOTA'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY PUT MY CAR ON A LIFT AND WENT OVER ALL THE REPAIRS THE OTHER DEALER SAID I NEEDED AND WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE I ONLY NEEDED $250.00 WORTH OF WORK. THEY LET ME GO INTO THE WORK AREA AND SHOWED ME UNDER MY CAR THE BREAKS AND STRUTS WERE PERFECT I DID NOT NEED TO REPALCE THEM THEY WERE IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER.

SO AS FOR ME I LOVE THIS PLACE THEY SAVED ME OVER $1000.00. THEY COULD HAVE SAID I NEEDED TO SPEND ANY NUMBER UNDER THE $1200.00 QUOTED BY THE OTHER DEALER AND I WOULD HAVE PAID TO HAVE IT DONE AND THOUGHT I WAS SAVING MONEY BUT THEY WENT OVER MY CAR WITH ME AND ONLY CHARGED ME $250.00 IF THE SERVICE WAS AS BAD AS YOU STATED THEY WOULD NOT HAVE HELPED ME LIKE THEY DID.

REMEMBER YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE, MAYBE YOU WERE TO b***h TO THE STAFF SO THEY DECLINED TO SELL TO YOU. I KNOW IF IT WAS ME AND YOU TREATED ME LIKE THIS I WOULD NOT WANT TO WORK WITH YOU EITHER.

AS FOR THE SALES DEPARTMENT I HAVE REFERED MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO THEM IN THE PAST WHO HAVE ALSO RECEIVED GREAT SERVICE FROM THEM.

I HOPE ANYONE WHO READS YOUR POSTING TAKES MY COMMENTS IN TO GREATER CONSIDERATION WHEN THINKING OF SHOPPING AT RIGHT TOYOTA BECAUSE I AM A VALID CONSUMER WHO SHOPS THERE ON A REGULAR BASIS. YOU ARE JUST SOMEONE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FOR FREE AND NEEDS YOUR DADDY TO CO-SIGN FOR YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE BAD CREDIT.

CLEAR UP YOUR CREDIT CONCERNS AND YOU WILL PROBALLY RECEIVE BETTER SERVICE IN THE FUTURE AND SAVE MONEY.

OTHER CONSUMERS DO NOT LIKE PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO HAVE BAD CREDIT. IT IS BECAUSE OF YOU THAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS TO PAY HIGHER INTEREST RATES TO OFSET THE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS COMPANIES HAVE TO RIGHT OFF EVERY YEAR BECAUSE YOU CAN PAY YOUR BILLS.
