Rincon Management Scam to scare individuals into paying old, uncollectible debt Corona, California
*Consumer Comment: It's too late now, the damage is done! Judgement time!
*Consumer Comment: cancell the debit card
Kelly Harris called to say she was sending a process server to my place of business to serve a court summons to collect an old debt.
She said it could be settled over the phone in two payments and that she would send the paperwork, which arrived in about one hour.
I signed and faxed back without thinking (was busy at work). Now they have my debit card information and two scheduled payments.

It's too late now, the damage is done! Judgement time!

Unfortunately, the damage is done. Once you made the payment, you LEGALLY "affirmed" the debt. By doing so, you restarted the clock for legal collections, and for enforcement through the courts.
Taking Steph's "advice" to cancel the debit card will do you absolutely no good.
This agency will now sue you and win as you legally affirmed the debt in 2 ways. You signed an agreement which you faxed back to them, AND you made a payment.
You are screwed.
They will sue you and win, and get a judgement against you, and then a garnishment order.
Are you really stupid enough to think that if anyone was actually going to serve you with legal documents that they would call you first? Just common sense here.
You need to stop doing things "without thinking" as you put it.
GET A LAWYER ASAP.

Call your bank and cancell the debit card. You should of never give any bank imformation to a debt collector. They cannot be trusted. I never give bank imformation to a 3rd party collector.
