Robinsons-May ripoff consumer fraud ripoff Downey California

On March 9, 2002 We walked into the Downey store (Robinsons-May to purchase a Bedroom set. We were treated very well by the sales associate and got a quick approval to purchase up to $5,000 in our furniture account. We scheduled our delivery for March 17, 2002.

About eleven o'clock in the morning the brought the furniture and was set outside to unpack. The delivery guy started to make excuses and put and did not want to take a dresser in to the room because he said it would get damaged. My husband and my brother were advising the driver how to bring in the furniture and he said he would not bring it in because he was not going to be responsible.

I called the store and advised them of the situation and they indicated that I would get my credit back. I have been trying for the last two months to escalate the issue to consumer affairs because I still show that I have an outstading balance on my account of $108.44.

On April 18, I spoke to Annette who promised me dearly that my she would take the charges off. May 17, 2002 I received my statement demanding payment of $110.39 and indicating that this would reflect on my Credit Report. I just can not believe that I have spoken to at least ten people at that store I have not received a call nor an apology letter.

I slept for a month on the floor and my floor is marble title. I have even gone back to the store and mentioned it to the associates and all they are telling is I am so sorry. I do not know how else to relieve my frustation. With the superb prices and false advertisements I can not believe that this store gets away with all of their bad customer service.

I am very dissappointed also because when you try to contact them after you get home they tell you call tomorrow and they do not have extended hours for the customer service but yet they extend hours to get people to spend their moneys with them. Do Not shop there please. If anyone can help me escalate this matter and help resolve it I will appriciate it. If you can forward it to the company I will Be happy.
