I signed up to work with rover.com petsitting. they have you create a profile and eveything, I got my first petsitting job, not to mention I am recenylt unemployed so I really need this. My first job was to pay $50, to me. I finished to job and went onto rover to get paid and my balance says $-7.45! WHAT!!!! you had to imagine my reaction, to finding out I just watched someomes dog for free!!!! I called rover to inquire about what was going on there must be some mistake. THe Rep on the phone tells me, "Oh I think I know what it is, but let me check this happens all the time." WHAT!!! well, if this is happening all the time then it sounds like there is problem on the rover site and peole arent seeing this. She said well it looks like you checked the box where theres some sort of badge that we can get. Look I could give two shits sbout a badge, I just want to watch people dogs and get paid, not pay rover! Well Needless to say Rover would not fix the problem, told me it was my fault. I cant afford to watch dogs for free. Rover is making there money off of hardworking people off this tiny glitch that i went on the site to find that was clearly already checked for me and convently located under a heading and is greyed out and already checked by rover! DONT BE SCAMMED!

Rover.com did the same thing to me

AUTHOR: Jeanne - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, December 04, 2016

After I did my first dog sitter job for Rover.com, I discovered that Rover.com withheld 10% of my paycheck for a donation to some Labrador Retriever fund that I never heard of and would NEVER in a million years make a donation to. When I complained to Rover.com, the customer service agent told me that I "may have, or accidentally did, click on" the link to donate 10% of my earnings to some Labrador Retriever Fund. Guess what? I have a photo of my dog, a Labrador Retriever, in my Rover profile. How convenient for Rover! They took that bit of information about me and used it try to deceive me into believing that I clicked on the donation link for this Lab fund! Because, obviously since I have a Lab, I must therefore have been interested in the fund, clicked on the link and voluntarily opted in to donate 10% of my income to them. And just WHY would I do that Rover? I have no interest in donating my hard earned money to some company I've never heard of and could care less about. I know, and YOU know perfectly well too, Rover.com, that I DID NOT opt to donate my money to that company! Rover.com steals their money and then BLAMES THE VICTIM! Then tries to make the sitters believe that THE SITTER CHOSE to make a donation when in fact the sitter never opted into making a donation. Sneaky, sneaky people at Rover.com! SHAME ON YOU ROVER.COM! Stop this deceptive practice, give your sitters back their hard earned money, and STOP BLAMING THE VICTIM FOR YOUR THEIVERY!
