I have been receiving letters from Saint Matthew's Churches for the past several months now. I have medical bills that I just can not pay, because I do not have a job. I told them, I will send you money once I get a job. but at this time, I can not pay! money is very tight for me, I use it for groceries, and personal needs like toiletries and contact lenses.
In one of the letters I received, I noticed that they kept insisting that I sign up for a harvest plan. They were quite demanding about it as well. over and over did they say I had to place it in the mail box my midnight. I asked my neighbor if she had received one. but not, it was ONLY me! and I am the only one who has medical bills that need to be paid! as of now, they keep sending me letters STILL insisting that I get a harvest plan and that i give money. I read one of these stories how this lady was in debt, and she had so many things go wrong, and because she kept sending money good things happened. I knew right then, it was a fake! .. churches, HAVE street names! not P.O.Boxes! I also noticed a former rip off report that the P.O.Box number was different!
this is a SCAM! and most likely a Collection Agency trying to get people to pay! they know that people will may offerings to GOD then to pay medical bills! DO NOT SEND THEM YOUR MONEY!

The real St,. Matthias church is horrified that a scammer is using their name, But Has no way to stop it.
Quote,
In one of the letters I received, I noticed that they kept insisting that I sign up for a harvest plan. They were quite demanding about it as well.
These are the scammers, they are NOT a Church, They're thieves preying on the Faithfull send them NOTHING. You OWE them NOTHING.
The REAL Church would NOT "Demand" anything.

I can understand how people would feel this way

I'm new to this website and was just trying to 'post a comment' rather than a rebuttal to any one in particular's report, so this 'rebuttal' is simply that.
I can understand the reactions, the outrage, the suspicions, and all the comments. I really do. But, let me tell you my story..
I am a Christian. I don't have a particular church that I am a member of. I have had to work two and sometimes three jobs for many, many years just to make ends meet and have tried to do all the 'right' things always. I've always set aside money for charity no matter what, and although I am very familiar with the Scriptures about tithing, I never have truly put God first by tithing according to the Biblical principles.
One day in my mailbox, I received the first letter from the Saint Matthews Churches. There was 'something' about the wording that gripped me. I opened the letter and read it and could not believe how the wording was so exactly appropriate to 'where I was at' and how I was thinking and feeling - verbatim even - right then.
Long story short, two years later, the letters have been very helpful; very joyful for me. They sent me a book about the reaping and sowing by faith and I finally really and truly understood that I had not put God first in my life. ("Seek ye first the Kingdom of God..and His righteousness..")
It was by Faith that I have chosen to take the time to read the letters and meditate on them; by Faith to take the time to write down what really is going on with me and what I need prayer for; and by Faith that I had tithed and in these last two years I cannot begin to tell you how blessed I have been by having this prayer relationship with them! It has really caused me to focus, caused me to pause and reflect, and to really understand that I had been doing it wrong.
If you have these blessings in your life already, and you are being nurtured and fed by your own home Church, then that is good and where you need to be.
I don't have any complaints about receiving these letters. I don't have to do anything. I don't feel threatened or 'put off' by anything. And I definitely feel the power of somebody somewhere praying for me. I absolutely know that much!
God brought them into my life and He has blessed me through them. God knows my heart and nothing will return void.

Collection Agency

It is very unlikely that it is a Collection Agency. Collection Agencies must follow the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act(FDCPA). While some Collection Agencies violate the FDCPA on a daily basis, this is even beyond what they would do. As if they did do this they would be violating several provisions and you would be able to sue them. Not only to mention that something like this would have the Attorney General of any State going after them in a heartbeat.
What is more likely is that you got on some mailing list for this organization asking for donations. In fact you are probably dealing with some company that is doing the marketing for them and get a commission on the amount that they get people to donate. Which is why they are so pushy, and wanting you to send the money to a PO Box.
The best thing to do is if you don't want to donate, ignore any letter they send you and don't call them.

I'm sorry, you misunderstood me, I have not replied to these letters saying I would sign for a plan or say I will send them money.. the main office itself from where my bills are coming from is where I have called and told them, I can not pay them at this time.. they have said it's ok.. some others, have already passed me down to collection agencies, and that is when this Saint Matthew's Churches came into play.. I'm wondering if it's a collection agency under cover.. sorry about that misunderstanding! but will not send them money i just throw away the letters that the Saint Matthew's Church sends..

Don't promise them money
AUTHOR: Cat - (U.S.A.)

You keep getting these letters because you've been telling them as soon as you get a job you will send money to them. I've had 49 surgeries and I spent 72k on my last surgery, so you probably can figure out I owe a LOT of medical debt and I am only 50 yrs old. Even after you get a job you probably will have to be paying off debt, so the one way to end these letters is to not answer them in the first place! These type of places will not stop until you cut up the letters into millions of pieces and send that back to them. Believe me, they will stop sending them if they get "junk mail" back.lol Good luck on getting back on your feet!
