My wife's parents were served by a constable to sieze their assets to fulfill a judgement made against them in a case filed by Sam Streeter. They were told that they had so many days to pay $17000 or else their assets would be seized.

They contacted an attorney because they were dumbfound by these charges. The attorney found out that a case was filed against them last year and a judgement was made for the plaintiff since the defendents never showed up. They never even knew about it.

This case surrounds a credit card from "Fleet Bank" which neither parent acknowleges as ever owning. Both pulled their credit reports and there is no Fleet Bank account on any of their reports.

Their attorney has filed all kinds of motions to re-open the case. It turns out Streeter filed in Dallas County and her parents have lived in Tarrant County for over 15 years. Courts have record of serving papers last year but it was to her mothers old address in Dallas County. Her parents are in their 70's and retired. Her father is a retired war veteran.

Because of all this, my wife decided to do our own searching. She discovered that Sam Streeter filed a case against me last year in 2007 as well. We're going to have her parents attorney look into this as well.

What can be done to bring this type of tactic down? I can't believe our courts and tax dollars are being used by scumbags like Sam Streeter. Can anything be done?
