Sams Club Sams will not honor tire warranty-stay far away Internet, Internet
*Consumer Suggestion: Here's a copy of the BFG treadwear warranty on your tires
*Consumer Comment: What does your tire warranty from Sam's specify as replacement tread depth?
I bought BF Goodrich Touring T/A from Sams Club in Lone Tree, CO. I religiously rotated and aligned and had correct pressure. I am down to 3/32 on all tires at 50k instead of 70k warranty and they refuse to even pro-rate! They say unless they are under 2/32 they will do nothing. They are not safe to drive. They said everyone is that way. No they are not. I will take my business to Discount if a bit more because they warranty everything. I knew Wallmart/Sams was cheap but this is ridiculous. I want to buy new tires and receive a fair pro-rate and they refuse. I will demand my card membership refund and not shop there anymore.

Here's a copy of the BFG treadwear warranty on your tires

It's the warranty ALL retailers must comply with to get reimbursed for replacement(s).
THE BFGOODRICH BRAND PASSENGER AND LIGHT TRUCK TIRE LIMITED WARRANTY
No tire manufacturer can guarantee you a certain number of miles from a given tire. Driving habits, driving conditions, road conditions, and vehicle and tire maintenance all play a part in the tread life of a tire. If a tire does not reach the warranted mileage, and the owner of the tires has complied with the terms and conditions of the warranty, BFGoodrich brand will replace the tires as follows:
If, within 6 years of the date of purchase, your BFGoodrich brand mileage tires wear evenly across the tread, down to the treadwear indicators (2/32nds of an inch of tread remaining) before providing the warranted miles of service as indicated on the properly functioning vehicle odometer, they will be replaced with comparable new BFGoodrich tires for a pro rata charge based on the actual mileage received.
See How Replacement Charges are Calculated - Mileage Tires beginning on page 4. You pay the cost of mounting, balancing, and any other service charges and applicable taxes. Tires which wear out evenly before delivering the warranted mileage will be replaced on a pro rata basis only if:
1) You are the original purchaser of the tires, you own the vehicle on which they were originally installed, and the
tires have been used only on that vehicle;
2) The tires have been rotated and inspected by a participating BFGoodrich tire retailer every 7,500 miles, and the attached Rotation Service Record has been fully completed and signed;
3) The completed Rotation Service Record, Original Owner/Tire Installation Information form, and the original invoice are presented to a participating BFGoodrich tire retailer at the time of adjustment claim; and
4) The tires have not become unserviceable due to a condition
listed under WHAT IS NOT COVERED (see page 3).
Hey, I'd bet Discount Tires and other retailers just ignore the rules and GIVE you the tires without the manufacturer rembursing them....NOT!
The ONLY way they would do that is if they offer an optional, extra cost warranty, as I believe, Sam's also does for road hazards.
I sold tires in the late 50's to early 60's and 2/32" has always been the depth for replacement.

What does your tire warranty from Sam's specify as replacement tread depth?

I'd bet it's 2/32, mine is on my van tires from Sam's. Bet you never even looked at yours. It should be attached to the receipt they gave you when you bought the tires. It's in your glove compartment for future reference, right?
If everyone, you included. could decide what tread depth they wanted replacements at, it would be chaos and expensive for the store. There MUST be a guideline and It's NOT yours. I might decide 4/32" or less is unsafe. Most state inspection stations reject tires for 2/32" or less, NOT 3/32" or other tread depth they just make up. There are also usually wear indicators on the tire tread.
Just think, in another few thousand miles, you'll meet the guidelines and they'll accomodate you. Oh, wait, they won't, you'll have cancelled your membership and demanded a refund of the membership amount...right?
Go ahead and cancel your membership, they'll be happy to see you and your arrogant, hostile attitude go. You know you'll be shooting yourself in the foot. I've been doing business with them as long as they've been in business and feel they are a VERY good company to deal with.
Oh, yeah, I DON'T work for them and never have.
