If you are thinking about working for Schwan's, read this first. If you are married or have a girlfriend, get divoriced or break up with them. If you don't, it will happen anyway.

My experience with the company was very horrible. Once you are hired your life is basically over. Schwan's motto is we come first, screw your family. This was actually said to me by my LGM. For example my nine year old son broke his ankle at school while I was doing a route. My LGM told me that my job was more important than my son and that was your wife's job to take care of him.(also said by my LGM). Does this sound like company you want to work for?

Your day starts when you want it to, there is no set schedule. However schwans wants you to work a minuim of 14 hours. What happens if you get done with your route early? Most people will answer, your day is done. Not with Schwan's. The company expects you work 14-15 hours a day.

Also we had monthly meetings, which we weren't allowed to clock in for. Also they made you work off the clock for a number of hours. Basically you would work for free at thier mercy. After your night was over, you were told to clock out to do your paperwork for free. This was so you didn't break D.O.T rules, which you do daily.

In closing, If you want to work 14 to 15 hours a day(hourly rate less than minuim wage, 80 to 90 hours a week), not see your family, be told what to do 24 hours a day, then Schwan's is the place for you. For me I like working my 9-5 livig my own life. Schwan's breaks every D.O.T. and labor laws everyday.

As a whole, the company sucks, managment sucks, and they don't care about you...... Bottom line......Period....

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

I'm not shocked in the least bit

AUTHOR: Oldtimer2 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 21, 2009

After hearing about what happened to your son and the response that you received from your LGM, I am not the least bit surprised. They don't give a d**n about employees or their families. All they care about is money. Which is exactly why I no longer work for such a ridiculous company.
