I usually walk by those kiosks, but this time I had time to waste (and I have to admit, I do like to try new skincare products), so when the sales person gestured towards me, I thought ''why not?''. That was my first big mistake...

Before I knew it, I was sitting with my coat off at the back of the kiosk beside a little water bassin, rubbing salt into my hands while the guy was spraying water on them. He then proceeded to make me try half the products he had on display, and truth be told they did feel like they were working wonders.

He also told me all products were hypo-allergenic when I said I had sensitive skin. I finally bought four different products ''for the price of one'' (he showed me a price list and calculated how much it would usually cost me for the products - around 500$ - and told me as a special offer, he would sell them all for 180$, the price of the mud mask). At this point, I was very annoyed by all his pushy selling techniques (telling me he gave me this price because he liked me and he only wanted me to bring him new customers, pretending to speak in a low voice so his co-workers wouldn't hear the price he was giving me as if it was something he wasn't allowed to do, etc.), but I thought the products were good.

Needless to say, when I arrived home I immediately went to check the website and immediately realised what a sham this all was. The mud mask I was told was worth 180$ is selling 94,95$ online, half the price! My skin also started getting very itchy on my way back home, and I now have red spots on my hands and all over the inside of my arm. The products are still unused in their little bag, but I cannot return them because I realized what I thought was an invoice is actually only a small paper with the sales person's e-mail address on it. Of course, he's going to know how unsatisfied I am with their company and service, but I'm afraid it won't be any use without a bill.

I know it will be too late for most people when they read this, but if by any chance someone decided to make some research before buying the products (like I wish I did), I hope this helps.

Very "good" sales people: stand your ground to get the best deal

AUTHOR: Angie - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, December 09, 2012

the sales person used every tactic in the book.  Obvious lies about the product, price of the product, flattery, pointing out skin flaws, etc... however, through the demonstration of several products, I actually did like the moisturizer.  He said the products were worth $120 each and offered me $80 each.  I said no way.  Then he offered, buy one get one free, but I only liked/ wanted the moisturizer.  I eventually got the moisturizer for $40.  The online price is $65.  So, even at $40 it is a bit pricey, but I suppose I got a good deal because I refused to buy things I did not want and insisted that $80 was way to high.  Sales people are sales people, if you can't stand up to them, get there card and tell them you have to talk to your spouse before making large purchases.  They work on commision and most cannot be trusted to tell the whole truth. I really like the product I purchased and I am happy with the price I paid.  It does cause a slight tingle or burn.  But my face has never been smoother or softer and it does not cause my rosacea to break out.  I've been using it for only four days... but I am very happy with this product (intensive moisture face cream).

Yes, I will admit that they have strong sales tactics but thats what sales is all about. I got suckered in to the sitting down on Saturday and I never get sucked in.  I also have very sensitive skin and was very suprised at how wonderful the products are. I landed up getting about $700.00 dollars worth of pruduct for $400.00. I went online when I got home to check out the prices and the only item that was over priced was the oil and salt body scrub. I received a detailed invoice that was given to me with the products and prices on it.

Overall I had a great experience at the booth and would not hesitate to send a friend.
