I  always get my oil change done at sears ,and my last one was done on 4/6/2011 so it was time for a oil change again. so on 7/8/2011 i went back to get oil changed ,and i gave them my keys and thay said about 30 to 40 min i said ok and went to walk around the k-mart and wait for it to be done .and about 10 min later i was being paged to come back to the auto area, and when i got their the mgr on duty said he could not give me a oil change due to, that he  could not remove the plug with out doing damage to the oil pan , and he said that i should take it some wair else at my cost .i then tryed to exsplain to him that i always get my oil change done hear and their has never been a problem ,and he really did not want to hear anything i had to say about it .but he refused to admitt that his employee had put the drain plug in wrong and stripped it ,on my last visit for oil change .

so now im stuck with the problem of having to pay to have this corrected .i also asked the manager on duty for his bosses number and he said their is no number you have to go thru the computer,so when i got home that is what i did .and i was going to make a caplaint and then i seen the number for the headquarters office .and then we called and exsplained the situation at hand and wait happend .and thay said thay would get to the bottom of it and i would recieve a call back .and about 2 hrs later the manager called from the manahawkin store wair i went ,and said that it was due to wair and tair and that our van had alot of miles on it ,and that is what happends.

so he is still not wanting to admit to the problem that was caused at his shop .so today wich is 7/9/2011 i went to a auto repair shop close to home ,still trying to get a oil change done and wen the tech at k&n transmission looked underneath our van he told us that thair is a problem with the drain plug for the oil ,and he said that it had been crossed threaded and in return he gave me the drain plug in qeustion for evidence ,due to them cross threding drain plug it has caused permanent damage to oil pan .and i also have it in writing on my recipt saying what the problem is and how it happend .so the guy at k&n was so verry nice to me and did what he could so i could get my oil changed today .but now when my next oil change is due im left with the problem of paying for a new oil pan at my exspence  wich i feel is not fair to me at all .due to the fact that this problem all began at sears auto motive .

There are Many aftermarket oil Plug repair kits that will keep you from having to replace the pan, the best ones Use a slightly Oversize thread that when screwed in cut new threads, They're cheap too $10 or so.

Use an air Gun to remove the old Oil plug (It's stripped anyway) and install whatever size necessary.

You won't be going back to sears.  You would've eventually needed an engine.
