I had carpet installed in June of 2012 made by Shaw Carpet. It began pilling in months. What I thought was my new vacuum working wonders was actually carpet fibers being extracted from the carpet. Despite two professional cleanings, the carpet looked so old and bad ...flattened, dirty, faded in places...that I was prompted to complain to the store where I bought it. They sent a rep out and he said he'd contact Shaw. They sent an inspector out and he took samples and pictures and shone a flashlight on it. I thought I'd given him ample evidence that it was defective and covered under the ten year warranty. I just heard from the store about the report he gave and it blamed the victim..me. It stated that it was normal wear and tear and incomplete cleaning. This less than two year old carpet looks five times that old and is an embarrassment. They do not honor their warranties.

Why is it...

AUTHOR: Tyg - ()

POSTED: Thursday, January 02, 2014

Why is it thast when the American Consumer is told no they feel its all right to post lies about businesses? You were told that your situation doesnt qualify for warrenty work. Their warrenty covers "Manufacturer Quality", NOT normal wear and tear. The carpet company is NOT the one who walked on it. The carpet company is NOT the ones who cleaned it. The carpet company is NOT the one that ruined their carpet. That was on you and the choices YOU made.

They DID NOT flat out deny your claim. They sent someone out who is TRAINED to know what to look for. That inspector has determined that YOUR SITUATION DOESNT QUALIFY!! But somehow and someway YOU feel its ok to write a lie. You do not qualify for the warrenty work. To sit there and blast them because they wont replace your carpet for free after YOU have used, cleaned, walked on it is the higth of self entitlment.

You need to accept the fact that YOU made assumptions as to what your warrenty covered. YOU need to accept the fact that YOUR situation DOESNT qualify for FREE CARPET. And you can sit there and deny it all you like. The ONLY reason you are posting this is to get yourself some FREE CARPET or to try and use internet blackmail and try and embarass them into GIVING you free carpet. Your ploy is as HORRIBLE as you are. YOU ARE THE SCAMMER!!!

Great thing is, THEY know who you are. YOUR complaint is on file with them. All they need to do is get a court order and all that nice lovely information that YOU put in on this site in order to LIE about them will now be used against you. People like you are DISGUSTING!!!!! Thing age. Things break. Things wear out. Sometimes faster sometimes slower. But the joy of living in a linear universe is the FACT that ALL THINGS WILL TURN TO DUST EVENTUALLY!! A baby is born to die. A car is created to break. NOTHING is 100% protected against ENTROPY. That is the state of decay that all physical objects MUST deal with in order to exist in THIS universe.

That being said, the moment you laid that carpet down, it was breaking down. Every step, every vacuming, EVERY SHAMPOOING!! After 2 years of use, you expect them to replace your carpet. Its highly unrealistic. If the carpet was completly unraveling I would understand. But that would be a quality issue. When I replaced MY living room carpet I was freaking out because of the same issue. Something NEW only stays NEW if it is never used. When I called and asked if it was normal for a carpet to shed so many fibers, I was told YES!!! I was also instructed to keep vacuming to a minimum if I wanted my carpet to continue to look good. When I asked why, they explained to me that a vacume cleaner is NOT just air moving into a bag. The brushes rotate at a VERY high rate. Each time it rotated it was pulling fibers from the carpet. Once I realized that it was MY FAULT for having the vacume cleaner set to low, my problems were solved. I raised the vacume level up a bit and VIOLA!! No more fibers.

So this is a problem of your own creation. Perhaps it was just OVER vacuming. Perhaps the neat freak in you took issue to some dirt and you bore down a bit harder then usual while vacuming. Either way, its YOUR fault and they WILL NOT just replace your carpet. Its NOT then dismising their own warrenty. Its just that YOUR situation doesnt qualify. To make a blanket statement that they do not honor warrentys is both a lie and an exageration. Your cheap dime store hood tactics are easy for ANYONE to see. If your going to scam, try doing it better.
