Purchased an engine from SouthWest Engines, along with a 3yr/30,000 mile warranty. Engine failed within 25 days of installation. Called and emailed this "business" numerous times and all I got was excuses and a total run around.

After providing them with all of the proof they wanted regarding the engine failure (receipt from garage, statement from the owner of the garage & pics of the heat tab) I was told I could return it, but was also informed that my warranty was never activated. This was after well over 30 emails back and forth. Even before this engine died, I continuously requested a copy of my warranty and was totally ignored. Dale Jones, apparently the SouthWest Engines spokesperson, said the warranty was available online. Nowhere in this warranty online does it state it needs to be activated, or how to do so. In fact, the only contact info listed reverts right back to Dale Jones, the very person who has told thousands of other customers the same thing....no activation.

I have copies of every single email regarding this entire ordeal. I demanded proof of this "activation stipulation" and all I got was a one line statement from him claiming it was somewhere in generic warranty online. In fact, every time I emailed them to explain and detail every aspect of this case, all I really every received back was one sentence responses that were of no help at all.

Immediately after the engine died, I informed him that they should reimburse me for the installation and removal of their defective engine because I had purchased the warranty. At that time he explained the proof he needed, but only after I provided everything, did he use his last excuse that the warranty was never activated. Why didn't he mention this in the beginning?? Well, because that is their last ploy in the entire scam.... to never stand behind anything they sell. Now I'm expected to pay to remove the piece of junk they sold me. So basically all of the labor to install and remove their faulty equipment lies upon me. They refuse to take any responsibility. In fact, Dale's response to my claim to the BBB was that it was my esponsibility and they sell over 350 engines a day. God bless those poor souls that have (and will) be scammed like the rest of us have.

I do not understand why nothing has been done to these people after the endless complaints filed on them. There are too many to read without being completely sickened. I wonder how many ailiases this company goes under? I know of three, but I highly doubt it ends there. Please beware, this is all a scam.....fraud. If you want to waste your money, you might as well burn it because either way you'll never see it again.
