My first experience with using Spun was a few years back. We traded in tons of CD's in for store credit. They take nothing damaged, which is fine cause who wants to buy damaged stuff. I didn't know though they take only top mint condition stuff. If there is a single feather scratch on a disc expect to not get credit for it and have to buy something in their store to get free shipping or pay out however much it cost to ship the total amount of items they reject back to you.

Here is where things start to go sour, we recive our first shipment back in 2004 from them and we ordered a brand new DVD. When we opened it the DVD was so scratched up it was like cars ran over it in a street. We tried to see if it worked anyways just to watch it since we had it, planning on returning it anyways for another. Player couldn't read it due to the severe damage to it. We contact Spun about it, they said it was the last one and basically we are stuck with it. We returned it anyways it was junk. Never heard from again.

My most recent experience since our 2004 order I described to you, was this month. I traded in $75 credit value of items and in exchange got a $17 used movie from them so I could get free shipping. It arrived in a timely manner and the movie came out fine this time. I send them my package of items I was trading in to them. They inspected them and sent me an email of the items they will take and the rejected. I am very particular about my stuff and I keep my items in good condition. So I know my items should not of been rejected. They claimed a few of them to be scratched and one of the dvd's missing. I checked all of them for scratches and if they are in the right cases and all there. And they all where good and there! So now I got a movie case coming back to me with a missing movie in it, and so called others with scratches. I owe them $4 for the shipping to have them return them to me. I am guessing that they no longer wanted to by that particular item and just claimed them as damaged, so I pay for it in the end to get them back or they keep free.

I sent them and email about my credit owed to me I wanted it not in paypal since I didn't have one. I wanted it credited to my card. They said they can do check, online store credit or paypal. Check is fine, I should be getting $33 something for a check but...they send me another email saying when they researched my last order with them the amount of $26 something was rejected by my credit card company and they tried to get a hold of me about it. So with that they took $26 amount from my current credit they owe me in a check. They expect me to eat it or prove this order was payed back in 2004 and I would get my money back. Of course my bank only have records from 1 year ago and this is from 4 years ago. They are not providing me with any specific information about what item or items was not payed for, just a order number.

And so now I am expected to recive my returned items along with a $7.12 check. They basically stole my stuff and gave me little in return. I feel they made up excuses for their claims. They had not mentioned to me about oweing them money till I sent an email saying this was not the first time I had a problem with them. I sent them a not very nice email back about this mess and I don't expect to see my check in the mail either. Who knows maybe the items will never get here too.

I don't ever recommend using this company so to avoid this situation I went through. I don't expect them to ever resolve this issue, or any of the previous problems we had with them. The only reason I am posting here is in hopes that nobody gets involved and has the same problems I have had. I just want to warn others.

Here is another report that had a problem with the same company:

do NOT trade in your items to this place. they are a SCAM. they will quote you one price online, then say they are scratched, and give you half the trade in value. they also do NOT have a phone number you can call them at, which seems indicative to me of how many people they upset, and simply do not want to handle the amount of complaints. I will never sell to them again.
