I have two claims denied by SRC for really stupid reasons:

First, for my wifes dentist, the reason, "This service is not eligible during the 3 month waiting period". We have been members of SRC since January 1, 2007 (6 months prior to the service date) with a switch to COBRA on or about Feb 11, 2007.

Adding insult to injury separately the doctor and I called SRC prior to having the procedure performed and were assured that we had coverage.

Second, for laboratory work, the reason These charges were made after your termination date". Even though a doctor's bill for the very same date was covered.

This is not a single occurrence these bills were re-submitted twice and each time I called SRC and after 20 to 30 minutes on the telephone we were assured that "It has been taken care of". I just went through the same run-around today.

Additionally I submitted certificates of prior service to them but each time I make a claim it is denied until I call them and someone looks up the certificates.

We made all payments in full and on time, were covered since January 1, 2007.

stupidity, incompetence, or chicanery at SRC, An AETNA company

AUTHOR: Srcvictum - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 07, 2007

I do not know if it is stupidity, incompetence, or chicanery but SRC, An AETNA company has screwed up again. They refused to pay my doctor for a claim for an injured finger. The reason subscriber didnt submit the requested accident report.

Actually I had submitted the report the day after I received it in the mail.

When I called SRC, An AETNA companies customer service I assured the woman in customer service that I had submitted the accident report.

She put me on hold and about two minutes came back and said Here is the report we must have overlooked it, I will re-submit.

So since April 2007 until November 2007 my doctor wasnt paid and I have a record of unpaid bills.

Just love that company.

Claims PAID

AUTHOR: Srcvictum - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 10, 2007

After 6 months and much haggling AETNA, SRC reversed their decision and paid their part of my wifes dental bills. I had to go through their appeals process and wait another 30 days before action was taken. I get the distinct feeling that they deny many claims hoping you will get tired and just pay the bill. However even though it was three months late their portion of the bill was paid by them.

SRC paid my wife's Lab Bills

AUTHOR: Srcvictum - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 10, 2007

SRC - An Aetna Company finally paid their share of my wifes lab fees, however nothing has been said about her dental fees. In fact they have never told me the results of anything I found out about the lab fees being paid when I received a bill for the co-payments due.

A side note the bill to me from LabCorp was $168.77 Aetna paid them $16.88 + my $39.00 co-payment the remainder was listed as "discount". God help you if you don't have some kind of insurance.

I think SRC has communications problem between it's sections which they seem incapable or unwilling to fix. Beside that if you arent persistent their denial stands and they save money.
