I ordered tickets on their website that said they were available for electronic delivery.  Then after I bought them, they said the tickets would not be available for two months.  I immediately cancelled, and they refused to give a refund.

When on a website like StubHub, you really should read everything on the page. I guarantee that on the page you go to after you click on a particular listing, it will tell you when you can expect to have the tickets from the seller. Sellers are allowed to set the dates they expect to have the tickets. There's nothing wrong with that. They may also intentionally set a much later date to make sure they have their tickets and so they don't get into trouble if they don't. Most of the time they may get the tickets before that date. It's in their best interests to get you your tickets as soon as possible, they don't get paid until you get the tickets. When you buy on StubHub you are covered by their FanProtect Guarantee which ensures you will get your tickets in time, if not the seller is made to pay for the difference in cost for new tickets for you. The conditions of placing an order are that you understand what you're buying, if you don't read and understand, do you really think it's acceptable to ask for a refund? Depending on what you're buying, the tickets may not even be printed yet. Ultimately it comes down to being your responsibility to know what you are agreeing to when you accept a user agreement. You are also responsible for knowing the details of what you're buying when the information is openly and clearly presented. If you want something you need to be patient, you will get it, and StubHub guarantees it or your money back.

"Electronic Delivery" Is a Scam

AUTHOR: John - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, June 18, 2012

You lie and say you have tickets available for electronic delivery.  Then it turns out you really don't have the tickets for two months, if at all.  Now you claim they are delivered electronically, just not for two months?!?!?  What kind of a joke is that?  The site is a complete rip off.

Ticket Availability

AUTHOR: Stubhubecc - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, June 18, 2012

Hello John,

My name is Jennifer, and I am writing from the Executive Customer Care Team at StubHub.  We certainly apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused you.  As we're a secondary marketplace, the tickets on our site are owned and sold by fans just like you.  Based on what the seller is able to provide, we are able to offer several different forms of delivery.  For tickets that are delivered electronically, we offer Instant Download and Electronic Delivery.

To clarify, when choosing your tickets on our site, tickets are guaranteed to be available to you immediately after purchase when they are listed as "Instant Download."  Other Electronic Delivery tickets are still delivered directly to your StubHub account for download, as opposed to being delivered via FedEx; however, the seller may not be able to upload your tickets right away.  If you choose Electronic Delivery, we notify you before you complete your purchase when you can expect your tickets to be ready for download on the "Ticket details" page.

When you purchase tickets through us, we've also got you 100% covered under our FanProtect Guarantee, which ensures you valid tickets in time for your event.  Please, feel free to check out our guarantee here:  http://www.stubhub.com/guarantee/.

I do apologize that we could not offer your refund in this case, John, as there was no way to tell ahead of time that the seller would not have completed this order.  Please also keep in mind that the seller is often able to deliver tickets in advance of the estimated delivery date, as the seller wants to make sure he/she has as much time as possible to properly fulfill the order.  If you believe the two month time period would have caused you to miss your event, I am certainly happy to look into this further for you.  Please email yourfeedbackmatters@stubhub.com with your Order number and/or StubHub user email.

Again, I apologize for this experience, John, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Jennifer M.
