I *cannot* believe this. I got sucked in by the Abslide Informercial back this past summer. I placed my order for it, by phone on Sept 6, 2000 (though, interestingly enough, their records show I ordered it in October). Well, it's now bloody well Feb 6, 2000 and no stinkin' Abslide.
I waited and waited and waited. On Dec 12, 2000, I found their website and found the "Customer Service" Section...and from the pulldown window, I selected that I lived in Canada and it had been over 6 weeks/still hadn't received it. Those buggers sent me a canned email tell me it *had* been sent..here's what they wrote:
----"In case your Abslide has been misplaced or lost in transit, we will replace it and will have it sent to you on priority. Please do not hesitate to contact us for clarifications, if any.----"
I contacted one of their dipstics at customer service (by phone).....I was told it would be sent by UPS, priority....according to their website I was told I would receive it within 5-10 days by UPS.
Well, 10 days later, nothing. This is now Dec 30th. So I go back to their pathetic site and try again. Again, get another canned mail telling me the same thing as above.
Then in January (unfortunately I didn't write down the date) I again contacted them by phone. I was not impressed. Reminded them how long it had been since I'd ordered it and where the he** was it. I explained to them that my VISA had been charged for it on Oct 30th ($52.90 USD). They then told me that I hadn't been charged the *correct* amount...not for the "Abslide GOLD" that I'd ordered (yeah, right..I don't remember ordering THAT ONE!). The new price would be $70 (roughly). I told them to stuff it...that considering it had been this many weeks and I hadn't received it, they could d**n well send me the GOLD version of it at the price I was charged. He told me what they'd have to do was (get this).....credit my card $52.90 USD, then charge me the $70 odd USD...then do a 'manual credit' of $20 USD for the difference. I made him go over this clearly with me because I didn't trust him/them at this point. Why not just credit my card $20 to begin with? Seemed 'shady' to me.
SO we get this straightened out and I ask how long it's going to take to receive it. He tells me "4-6 weeks". I nearly blow a gasket. I reminded him that it had already nearly 5 months and they could kiss my gritz and send it by UPS, priority (at their expense). I then demanded to speak to a Supervisor....not possible...but he'd talk to one "for me"......so he does, then comes back on the line and tells me, that yes, they'd send it priority by UPS and I'd receive it within 5-10 business days.
Well last week, January 30th and I STILL have not received it, so I call to complain royally. They tell me that it had been sent 'the day before'...OH HOW SPECIAL! It should have been sent out at LEAST 2 weeks before that. I then told her to stuff it, that I didn't want it, that I'd send the s****.>
Well let's see now. That was last TUESDAY...it's now MONDAY morning (Feb 5th, nearly a week later..and guess what? They have NOT CONTACTED ME!)
Oh, forgot to mention that upon speaking to them in the past, they insisted that it had been sent to me. Do I look stupid? If I get a package in the mail, I would know it!!
Does anyone know what someone from Canada can do about this? I already contacted my ***USELESS*** credit card company (VISA)...and they told me that since I was billed for this purchase on Oct 30th, that's too long ago and they can only do something if you complain within **30** days of the purchase. Well how the HELL was I supposed to know it would take nearly half a YEAR to get this d**n thing? So VISA will not help me.
Do I contact the Better Business Bureau here in Canada, or do I contact one in the U.S. (Seeing how this is a U.S. Scam/oops, I mean company).
I just canNOT believe this crap.
