TeleCheck Services, Inc. Charged me for correcting a bank routing no. when I paid a bill with PayPal. Totally false claim Houston, Texas

I paid for a purchase with PayPal.  A couple of days later I got two letters from this Telecheck outfit claiming that my paper check could not be properly read.  For their service to correct this difficulty I was to pay them $2.97!  The very next day I got a harrassing telephone call from a debt collector insisting that I immediately pay up.

Included in one of the letters was a note that if I didn't respond in 30 days, I would concede that the charge was legitimate and that dept collection procedures would be justified.

This is clearly a scam.  I am going to pursue this with the California State Consumers Protection service.
