Hello My Friends.
I am retired USAF and was working after retirement and became unable to work .I collected LTD from CNA for about 14 years, Then some how The Hartford to over my payments, Just before I turned 60 years old they started screwing with me, they terminated my payments at 60 years, 3 months old and and then denied my appeal even after having 11 hour spinal decompression (L2 to S-1)surgery at the VA in NYC. I contacted a lawyer after my appeal was denied, who said I had a good case but would not take it for there wasn't enough money left since I was 60. People have told me the Hartford and other companies terminate payments of people at around 60 for they know we have no way to fight since the lawyers will not take the cases because the LTD policies only paid to 65. Please if you or anyone you know has had this happen to them let me know for a class action suit against The Hartford. I have hundreds of papers to provide anyone who can help me.
thank you.

POSTED: Wednesday, August 22, 2012

My wife has this insurance, filed a claim on it and has learned a lot about this rip off company, she is due to go back to work in about six months. She is really upset with them. But the guy is right blame the employer that offered this rip off company. She is a Wal-Mart store manager and already is talking to corporate about here experiences with Hartford LTD. She
wants to get the company out of the employment benefits option packet.  Hope she can get it done.

Insurance companies may refuse legitimate claims for long term disability benefits

AUTHOR: SonjaKathryna - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, May 24, 2012

Hi, my name is Sonja, & Im with the disability rights group from Sokolove Law.  We have been reviewing thousands of potential claims where insurance companies refuse long-term disability benefits to someone who has a legitimate claim. Too often, legitimate claims are denied because insurance companies look for every possible legal and technical angle available that will allow them to deny a valid claim. When an insurer does not live up to its end of the contract, they act on what is called bad faith.

For folks interested in learning more about bad faith practices of insurance companies, there is great information available at http://awe.sm/5o82i. If your claim has been rejected, I want you to know your rights and options. Call our office toll-free at 800-581-6943 to learn about your options and receive a free legal consultation.

This posting is incorrect.

Sir,

If you've read your LTD policy, Approx. Page 4 "Schedule of Benefits".
Your Disability Benefit end date is based on your Date of Loss, not your age.
The 2nd page of the schedule of benefits tells you something to the effect of "if you became disabled prior to example: 1970, your ltd benefit will pay through ..."
So claims aren't terminated just because you turn 65, majority of the time, if you are 65 when your claim was filed, we pay at least 2 years of benefits.

Blame your employer, they select the terms of the ltd policy, we just inforce them.

Good luck with your class action law suit, but make sure you read the policy 1st.
