The Mortgage Law Group This company attempted to scam me out of my home by promising me a loan modification that would be impossible to do. Chicago, Illinois

I was contacted by The Mortgage Law Group who reprensented themselves as an intity that could help me obtain a loan modification to lower my monthly mortgage payment. As that I am on disability this is something that would help me tremendously. I explained that I live in a mobile home and when i checked in 2009 my lender did not do modifications on my type of loan. They explained that the rules have changed and I could get one.

Based on that reprensentation, I provided all of my information, including my checking account info so I could pay them. Right before I finalized the agreement (of which they did not guarantee this would go through) there was some fine print that made me suspicious. I told the lady, Michaelene, I needed to check something out first and I would call her back. She was offended and upset with me. She wanted to hold on the line while I checked out her information. Then she told me to do the loan on my own.

I called my lender to find out they still did not do modifications on mobile home loans. I was gong to pay them $3,008, not pay my mortgage for 3 months (they would wrap that in the loan) and allegedly reduce my payment by $400. a month. The loan would not have gone through and I would be homeless. I also have a handicapped daughter that would have been homeless with me. I am now on fraud alert as that this company has all of my private information, including my checking account and ss#. This company is bad news.....
