My name is Emma Ray, I have a timeshare scam case with Mayan Resorts, I am investigating for someone that can help me cancel my contract.

I was recommended to call The Owners' Advocate, I went to their web page and I saw these Credentials that would give them credibility for solving these kind of cases. Anyway, I saw this PROFECO logo, then I learned they are mexican lawyers, from the government so I called them, asked them how they worked. A very nice young lawyer, Daniela Rojas, attended the phone and she explained to me the process, the way a lawyer is assigned to your case, how they work etc. I asked them if they knew this company"The Owners' Advocate",that I was investigating on the Internet for someone that could help me cancel the contract. I asked them if they were partners, associates etc. She had no idea what I was talking about, she said they didnt know at all this company, The Owners Advocate, never heard of them. She even asked me for the web page so they can ask them to put down their logo as this is not permitted. Be carefull, once scamed by the resorts you can get scammed again by these lawyers, persons, scam people. Go to PROFECO directly, they are in Mexico and can help you.

Owner's Advocate is a scam.

AUTHOR: mudnyereye - (Canada)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 23, 2011

When we had problems with REAL Club in Mexico, we tried the Owner's Advocate. They promised us all sorts of help and that they would get us out of the contract. We sent them the intial payment they reqeusted and they sent us a package.
I should mention that we are in Canada. I discussed this with them and they assured me that they had dealt with Canadian cases.
The package they sent us was soley for use in the US. All of the documents cited US laws and agreements. As the laws are very different in Canada, the package they sent us was useless. After much discussion with them, they reluctantly agreed to send us a modifed package. Well, the modified package was the same material with reference to the US laws deleted. This was not what was promised and not of much use to us.
I requeseted the return of our investment since they failed to deliver what they had promised. They refused.
Do not use these guys. After being taken advantage of once, they will offer you hope and then rip you off as well.

The Guide To Getting Your Money Back From Scandalous Timeshare Resale Companies

AUTHOR: bchiszar - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 25, 2009

I had been in the travel business(sort of) for years working for a company that was, shall I say, less than forthcoming with their clients. It was my job to help timeshare owners part ways with their hard earned money in exchange for advertisement of their timeshare for sale or rent. The company I worked for charged people hundreds, sometimes even thousands of dollars for this advertisement that was usually worthless. Phone sales people would call these owners and make them believe that their timeshares would sell or rent for very high amounts, the owners only responsibility would be to pay an upfront fee for processing. In my county (Pinellas) you can throw a rock and hit a sales room like this. I am not proud for the part I played in taking advantage of all these people, but I am sorry. About a year ago, my life started moving in reverse and I didnt want to take advantage of people anymore, so I got the idea of trying to help people that had been ripped off by all of these companies. I wrote an article titled The Guide To Getting Your Money Back From Scandalous Timeshare Resale Companies. The name says it all. Recently, I developed a website (http://www.timeshareowneradvocates.com  ) and published the article as a main feature. The Guide describes in depth, how to legally and effectively be able to recoup money spent with these companies. In times like these, every dollar counts and although I cant take back what I did, I can at least help out those in need who have been taken advantage of.  Im offering The Guide free of charge as well as all of the other resources on my website. Please keep in mind that this project is 100% not-for-profit. My only goal is to help people who have been taken advantage of by these bogus companies and as a byproduct maybe rebuild some Karma.

Good Luck and Best Regards.

The Owners' Advocate and PROFECO

AUTHOR: TheOwnersAdvocate - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, August 13, 2009

The Owners Advocate certainly applauds any and all efforts put toward reshaping the reality and morality of the timeshare and vacation ownership industry. Indeed, PROFECO is a tremendous resource for one trapped in a timeshare contract and, as a federal organization committed to effecting change in the industry, they carry a considerable amount of clout, which is often hard to come by when battling multi-billion dollar companies in a corrupt industry. Considering PROFECOs significant size as an organization and in general jurisdiction, regulating and providing services for all of Mexicos consumer affairs, The Owners Advocate maintains its PROFECO affiliation with select contacts; that is, we deal with a handful of contacts from an organization composed of over three-thousand employees, among whom are many without knowledge or information concerning The Owners Advocates active and invaluable ties with PROFECO. We encourage all to visit our website and review our track record; our statistics are verifiable and speak for themselves.
