I purchased a three piece sectinal made by England, a subsidiary of La-Z-Boy. Upon delivery, it would not connect together. The delivery men ripped the fabric in their effort to connect.

After many attempts, the Roomstore agreed to order new fabric to fix it. Many weeks later, the fabric came in and it was not the same color.

After many more attempts at contacting the Roomstore, they agreed to order two new pieces of the sectional. When it came in, it again did not connect. It travels all over my living room. They said there was nothing they could do about it and will not return phone calls. England, the manufacturer says it is a retailer problem. The Roomstore has been rude and unresponsive at best.

Better Service - Gave a Lot to Fix the Problem!

While this is not related to the specific "The Room Store" in this report, I visited The Room Store on Scottsdale Road (Phoenix address) last Saturday and purchased a new bed, including a queen size mattress/box spring set for my son. I was told that if the mattresses showed up that day, I'd be getting the set Sunday (which would have been impressive enough), otherwise Monday or Tuesday. Wednesday of last week, I called and was told the mattresses were due in Friday. Today (Sunday following the Friday) I called again, and was told the mattresses were due in NEXT Friday! My biggest reason for calling was the various reports posted here, which really made me nervous. You can imagine my skepticism when I was told the manager would call me back today.

About an hour later, I got a call from the manager. I was informed by her that the mattress I ordered would not be in, however she would upgrade me to the next level mattress. I was impressed as this item was $1000 more! Also, I'd be getting delivery today. That was at about 1:00pm. Here it is 3:00pm and I've got not only the right bed - new - but the mattress I was promised, and the delivery guys spent about 10 minutes in my house, putting the thing together like real pros.

My thanks go out to Cindy Gregory (name given over the phone), the Manager at the store on Scottdale Road, for not only picking up the slack her ordering system left but making up for it beyond what was expected. To be honest, I was going to ask for either the upgraded mattress or a refund of the mattress and I'd get one myself. She suggested the upgrade without my asking. Very impressive! So if you're reading these reports, and you're getting worried, keep on them and call them but know it's not as hopeless as I thought it was gong to be!
