Stay away from these cons. Insure you are dealing with the official venue box office or a legitimate online secondary ticket sale provider like ticketmaster.com or stubhub.com.

On May 26, 2012, I went online to purchase tickets to a Mary Poppins performance at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts. I went to Google and typed in Mary Poppins San Jose. The second site to come up was boxofficesanjose.com which displayed a photo of the center and  seating configuration for the theater. I purchased two tickets for $150.00 each, $63.00 service fee, plus $15.00 shipping for a total of $378.00. When the tickets arrived on June 1, 2012, they were from Omaha, NE not San Jose and the name on the tickets was John Uhrich and not mine.

I contacted the San Jose Center for the Performing Art and learned the following: the tickets were purchased by a John Uhrich for $73.00 each after my credit card had been charged. They were printed out and the $73.00 price and price section was removed from the tickets before they were shipped to me. At the time of my call the Center had plenty of seats available for $73.00 many better than what I had received. The Center advised that they receive complaints regularly about this company posing as the official box office and charging outrageous prices for tickets available at the box office. They explained that Tickets In Time has been getting away with it because somewhere on the site they state that they are not the venue.

I checked with other theaters and venues in my area and learn that this company is notorious and they have all received complaints about this company ripping off customers who thought they had been dealing with the official box office. Tickets In Time et al is engaged in convincing the online ticket seekers to believe they are dealing with the official box office site. Why else would anyone pay 2 1/1 times the price of tickets available at the official box office for the base price.
