I was directed to TicketsNow.com from a site promoting a show I wanted to go to. I bought tickets for $50 each (x2) plus a mandatory $15 shipping charge and a service charge of $20. I spoke to a friend of mine that had just purchased tickets for the same show for only $19.95 a ticket.

I called TicketsNow not more than 2 hours after my order was placed to request that my order be cancelled. The customer service representative said that when I confirmed my order I aggreed that I would not be able to return, refund, or exchange my tickets once the order was placed. I told her I was not going to be using or needing her services and asked that I be reimbursed. Upon refusing I informed her that I would be calling my credit card company and canceling the order.

She stated, "I'm sorry if you think that your getting your money back, but you are not going to and when your bank calls our company they will agree. To this I responded that this is a really awful buisness model, after which she no longer wanted to speak to me.

TicketsNow is nothing more than a large scale scalper that hoards tickets for popular shows in order to gouge the consumer with mark-ups of over 200%. A company like this should not be allowed to thrive. Price gouging and poor customer service from this company should be investigated.

INVESTIGATE BEFORE YOU BUY...

AUTHOR: Sherri - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 18, 2006

There are literally thousands of ticket brokers out there. They don't "hoard" tickets. According to my ticket broker, they all subscribe to a database of available tickets (which is why the same tickets are listed on multiple sites), when someone purchases the tickets from them, they make sure they are still available, get them for the customer and the listing is removed. Before using a broker, check with Ticketmaster or the venue box office to see what is available. You get these at face value.

The real problem is not the ticket brokers..the real problem is that the good seats are all sold in "presale" (Thursday, before tickets go on sale to the public on Saturday), which creates a market for the brokers. If Ticketmaster and Tickets.com did away with this practice, more people have a chance to get premium seats at face value.
