I was approached by a couple of yahoo's representing the above company, I guess I looked like a dumb sucker to them, this was at a local gas station, they gave a now familiar story about left over equipment, their 'boss' didn't want to pay to have it shipped back from the factory, etc, in hindsight and after I was able to view other reports I was able to view this for just what it is. It seemed too good to be true, and the guy was too high pressure. I called the local police later and the officer I spoke with seemed disinterested, possibly what they are doing here is not technically illegal, but I guess selling me a piece of blue sky isn't either? The two characters 'representing' the company were driving a pick up that was clearly theirs w/ a handy dandy magnetic sign for Titan Industrial slapped on it, their truck was licensed in the state of Illinois, I wish i'd photographed it. If I see them around again I will.

Get off high horses

You know, what company does not have deceptive sales tactics. Those guys are just trying to make a living. You people need to get off your high horses. You are getting great equipment at a great cost. I've been using this equipment for ten years now and love it! If I ever have problems, I call the number on the side of the equipment and they help me resolve the issues. Titan Industrial is a great company and I fully stand behind the gentleman that sold me the equipment.

Who's is at the "rebuttal" controls ?
Interesting... do you notice how most of these so called 'rebuttals', 'Titan Rocks' and other positive, but bogus reports seem to come out of Greenville, SC? Funny it would be so close to the factory? Perhaps workers who want to keep a job or relatives? You make the call, but the writing pattern and style are the same in most of the responses intended to refute or off-set the negative press.
As a side note, on the surface, we understand American FAB may be trying to resolve some of the field sales practices of their 'independent distributors'. We'll see - the level of future complaints will tell the tale. Personally, I'd not deal with anyone other than an American FAB employee and absolutely not some 'distributor' that has adopted deceptive methods. Before you purchase, comparative shop and don't count on trying to resale the stuff you don't need - A 'Trash Pump'?
Let's hope AF does clean it up and harness the folks playing the games. In any event, always ask to see LOCAL identification and a business license if required in your city - which is normally the case.

Dumb sucker

I am starting to enjoy all these comments about titan industrial. Seems to me we have a very, very small group of people that believe everything they read on the internet. Kinda like believing everything you see on t.v. Only seven comments out of thousands of customers they must have all over the country not bad for a company that's been in business since 1969 and have an A+rating with the Better Business Bureau. What part of this deal is a rip off? are they stealing anything from you? your identity? selling you a product that is no good? Where is the rip off? I have used there equipment since 1982 with no problems (see my other comment, not so smart firefighter). I have even paid full price for their products. Selling you a great deal on equipment is nowhere in comparison to selling you blue sky, so get real The reason the police were dis-interested in what you had to complain about, is because it was a great, legit deal! And he probably owned some himself, or the police department did! I'm sure they do deal with municipalities. By the way i spoke with a friend of mine that works for the fire department near my house and he said they use Titan Industrial equipment. And To Whom it may Concern at Rip Off.com, why aren't the rebuttals in plain view under the complaint, instead of where they are?

I was in a Kmart parking lot one time and I was approached by someone stying to seel me some prefume. I jsugt went into the store and told the manager that there were people on thier lot pestering customers and trying to sell stuff. SHE called the polikce. So next time you see them, try to get the store manager to ask them to leave or for the manager to call the police.
