TLG GreatFun Rip off Unathorized Fraudulent Credit Card Billing Norwalk Connecticut

Today when I received and opened my credit card statement, I noticed the last transaction on my statement in the amount of $9.99, dated 09/05/2006, and is from a company named TLG Greatfun. I immediately called TLG Greatfun to report the unauthorized/fraudulent transaction.

The person I talked with asked me was my name R.S., and I said yes, he then asked me if I lived at my current address (he told me my street address without him asking me for it), and I said yes. His reply was "OK R.S., how can I help you today"?

I told him I was calling to report an unauthorized/fraudulent transaction against my credit card and I wanted an immediate credit of $9.99.

His reply was to ask me if I recently made a purchase through Buy.Com, and I said yes. He then asked me if I used a discount coupon to make that purchase. I said yes.

He advised me to go back and read the fine print the very next time you make a "discount" purchase through Buy.Com, because by electing to use a discount coupon, you are "automatically" agreeing to enroll as a member in TLG Greatfun, so therefore, Mr. S., your transaction WAS NOT fraudulent, IT WAS authorized (automatically) by accepting the terms of the discount coupon from Buy.Com, and furthermore, if you dispute the charge(s), contact your credit card company.

I was promptly disconnected.
