Tracfone ripoff - sold me phone with text messaging that won't work, they won't fix Miami Florida

Tracfone sold me a phone over their website that should have text messaging. Repeated calls to get it to work result in requests to test the messaging (at my expense per message, of course). 3 months now and counting.

I have another working tracfone as well. That one sends text (including to itself) and receives (including from itself and the first phone). But the first phone can only send text, not receive.

On November 11, 2004 I called them yet again and demanded a supervisor, explaining the whole long story. She told me that this is the service level in my area ("it's OK that you can't receive text" - direct quote!). In other words, it's normal for one but not the other model of their tracfone to be able to send but not receive!
