Per plan, we arrived around 11 pm on 4/9/10. We went (nicely, politely, quietly) into the lobby to check in. The young woman at the desk was not very friendly; she was soon joined by the manager/owner, whose name is Anal Shah, who unexpectedly went ballistic (picture the "Soup n**i" from Seinfeld) and started calling us "liars" and accusing us of either having too many people per room and/or of lying to them about the numbers of people we planned to have in the rooms. We were dumbfounded, and tried to explain as calmly and politely as we could that we had been assured by his motel in advance that we could have as many as 4 people per reserved room, so long as one of the 4 was an adult, and that since we had 4 rooms reserved, 4 adults (1 per room), and would have no more than 2 or 3 students per room (again, we had 10 students), we were well within the "rules" that Mr. Shah kept yelling about.

Mr. Shah continued yelling at us to leave immediately, making it very clear that (a) he would not honor our advance reservations and that (b) he would nevertheless charge our credit card (the one we'd given to the hotel in advance to book the rooms) for the full charges for our stay. When we complained that that was illegal, since we were ready and willing to check in but he was refusing access, he and the woman at the desk said something like "well, it's not fair that we should lose out on the money just because you are liars!"

We had to find another hotel in the middle of the night.

And the owned did charge us for 4 rooms. And credit card (Chase) is saying now that since we didn't cancel the reservation they can't help us with the charges.

This man is crazy

AUTHOR: pissed - ()

POSTED: Sunday, November 09, 2014

April 24, 2011

On April 21, 2011 my wife and I began the check in process at Travelodge La Mesa

7911 University Ave

La Mesa, CA  91941

619-466-5988  Check-In:  Thursday, April 21, 2011-04:00 PM

Check-Out:  Saturday, April 23, 2011-11:00 AM

Room 1:  Jessica Duran

Confirmation # (((redacted))).

We had been on the road from Stockton, CA to San Diego for 7 plus hours and unloading all of are daughter belongings for about 3 ½ hours. Needless to say we were tried, sweaty, a little dirty, and dressed in are work clothes. We still had the U haul we used for the move and parked it in the Travelodge parking area. As we approached the check-in counter we were not greeted in a friendly manner. The man simply stated what do you want.

My wife Jessica Duran stated we were here to check-in. The man asked for I.D. and a credit card. Jessica asked him why he needed a credit card. He did not answer. She asked again stating our daughter had already paid through price-line, and he mumbled something about that’s between you and price-line. She asked again and still no answer. I then asked him in a stern voice what do you need this card for? He stepped back, looked at me and steered for a few seconds. He then yelled out, “no one raises their voice to me especially white trash, get out now, get out or I will call the policy”. He then ran around to counter in a very confronting behavior. I said f… you we are leaving you crazy a.. hole. He continued yelling obscenities at us even as we were trying to leave. At no time did we ever resist he just went crazy. He even followed us out to the parking lot were I said “we are leaving give it a rest.” He then called me white trash again and follow us to the U haul where he blocked our exit. I told him we had no choice but call the police because he was not allowing us to act on his request that we leave. We wanted to go and leave this crazy man behind. He quickly moved and we left.

We are including many links to several web sites so anyone who reads this will understand, we are not making this up. In fact this behavior is common place at this Travelodge and with Oscar Calcie, and Anal Shah.

Beware and use sites like this before booking!!!!

As a result of all this price-line is refusing to refund. So after reading all the complains I can find, it is quit obvious to me that this is a legal rip-off. I also see a distinct pattern of behavior. The management clearly discriminates the customer. If you are the right race you get to stay. If not you will be monitored until you do something wrong and then you will be threaten as we were and as others were, and then thrown out. The white trash comment will be given to a lawyer to see if we were victims of a hate crime. We are going to the police to see if a hate crime has been committed also.

We are asking anyone that has been victimized by this travelodge to contact us. We believe the individuals at this establishment our races and bigots.

We believe this is important. Anyone can run their business as they want. They cannot however discriminate.
