I MADE RESERVATION DIRECTLY TO THE HOTEL ON MAY 9 IN THE
MORNING.
I HAD TOLD HER THAT I HAD A COUPON FOR THE HOTEL FOR 39.99.
SHE SAID THAT I COULD NOT USE IT ON A HOLIDAY WEEKEND BUT THAT SHE HAD THE RATE OF 69.99 A NIGHT.
I TOLD HER WE WOULD BE STAYING FOR TWO NIGHTS AND THAT I WOULD BE NEEDING A DOWNSTAIRS ROOM BECAUSE I AM HANDICAPP.
SHE SAID FINE AND PUT A HOLD ON THE ROOMS AND THAT SHE WOULD PUT THEM DOWNSTAIRS.
WE ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL WALKED INTO THE HOTEL AND THE LADIES SAID IF THEY COULD HELP US AND I GAVE THEM MY NAME AND THE CONFIRMATION NUMBER
SHE SAID THAT SHE DIDNT NEED THE CONFIRMATION NUMBER BECAUSE I WAS IN THE SYSTEM SHE PRINTED OUT THE PAPER AND TOLD ME TO SIGN
I SAW THAT THE ROOMS WERE FOR 149.99 A NIGHT I TOLD HER THAT WAS NOT WHAT I HAD RESERVED THE ROOMS FOR
SHE PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALLED THE NIGHT MANAGER WHO WAS AT HOME AND SAID THAT THE BEST HE COULD DO WAS 99.99 A NIGHT.
I TOLD HIM THEN WHAT WAS THE REASON TO RESERVERING THE ROOM AT THAT RATE.
HE SAID IF I DIDNT LIKE IT THAT I COULD LEAVE.
EVERYTHING WAS ALREADY BOOKED.
THE MANAGER ROBERT PATEL TOLD US TAKE OR LEAVE IT.
I TOLD HIM I WAS NOT GOING TO DRIVE BACK.
I TOLD THE LADY AT LEAST DID WE GET THE ROOMS DOWNSTAIRS SHE SAID NO THAT THEY WERE UPSTAIRS.
SHE SAID THATS ALL THEY HAD.
THE ROOMS WERE NOT CLEAN.
TALKED TO BILLY SCHRANK AND TOLD HIM WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND HE SAID THAT FOR ME TO DISPUTE THE CHARGES ON MY CREDIT CARD.
I TOLD HIM IF THATS WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO HE SAID THAT HE DIDNT CARE WHAT I DID BUT THATS WHAT WAS ON THE SYSTEM AND THATS WHAT HE IS GOING TO CHARGE ME.
I TOLD HIM IF THATS THE WAY HE DID HIS BUSINESS HE SAID HE DIDNT CARE WHAT HAPPENED.
WHAT IS THE REASON WHY WE MAKE RESERVATION, HE TOLD ME TO HOLD THE ROOM FOR YOU, I TOLD HIM AND THE PRICE, HE SAID WHAT EVER COMES UP IN THE COMPUTER, AND HOW ABOUT THE HANDICAP ROOMS HE SAID IF THEY ARE AVAILABLE.
I TOLD HIM THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSSINESS.
I EMAIL TO TRAVELODGE THE PROBLEMS THAT WE HAD AND ALL THEY DID WAS GIVE ME 20 DOLLARS FOR THE DISPUTE.
AND TO BE HAPPY WITH WHAT I GOT.

I've had the same problem before at other motels so this is what I always do:
1. I make reservations through the motel website on line.
2. I make a copy of the confirmation email THAT SHOWS THE RATE AND ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS.
3. I show this to the desk clerk when I check in.
People who call the hotel and get quoted some rate, have no documentation except a confirmation number, and are dependent on "he saids" sometimes get a raw deal.
