There is nothing "free" about Turbo Tax "free" tax filing.  You will pay either 14.99 or 14.99 + 29.99 to file federal and state taxes.

Once you are deep into filing for "free" and the program tells you it's 14.99, you want to just say, OK I'll pay it.  But to pay the 14.99 from your return, they charge 29.99.

There oughta' be a law.

Maybe you need to dig deeper. You do not find out all the costs until you have completed a large part of the return.  Turbo is also listed on the IRS site as a free filer, which is not true.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

I don't see it...

I did a search on "Turbo Tax Free filing," and on the first hit, it shows free federal and $14.99 for state.  If you click on "Get Started," it shows you various options.  The "Free" option says "I'm a first-time filer or a student."  Is that the case with you?  The web page seems pretty clear about what you get for free, and what you pay for.
