This place BREAKS into your unit, takes everything, then tells you you can get a Free month. Uhaul on Holt here is very bad, the manager is very rude, their tell you to contact their insurance place after they take over $35,000 worth of our products. Their insurance Repwest tells you they will call you and they never do. They always lie and say you had removed it or left it unattended.

Stay away if you like your items, Uhaul is ripping us off and other people i'm sure of it.

Lets get the world involved to post these and get the truth out, since I lost all my items already.

Questions

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States)

I suppose I can see why RepWest denied the claim.  Explaining the following might help:

1.  Was it your padlock on the space, or did it belong to U-Haul?

2.  Did they possess a key to your lock in the storage facility?  If it was a combination lock, did you provide the combination to the facility?

3.  If it was their lock, why did you not place a lock on your own unit?

It's also important to understand that if the people at the facility are rude, it doesn't mean they stole anything.  It simply means they're rude.  On the other hand, you also accused them of stealing, so I suspect they're going to be rude when you're dealing with them.

It's also important to understand the real reason the unit will carry insurance is because if there is damage to your unit and the goods in it due to a fire or other catastrophic event, then you're covered.  Unless there are eyewitnesses, or you can catch the franchise owner in the act of stealing, I don't know how you prove they stole anything.  Your unit could have been broken into, but by another person who is not an employee of U-Haul - in which case their insurance would also not cover you - your own insurance would cover you (usually) in such a situation.

Best of luck to you...
